I lost my husband in October 2021 after a short battle with cancer. Flosstube has indeed been a saving grace for me. I’m retired and my kids are grown, and there have been many days where the only people who speak to me are you flosstubers! And sometimes I talk back!!! Congratulations on being brave. Your choice of colors is awesome, and I love how you explained that you use the darker for the main parts of the stitch and the lighter for the ones in the background. I am going to have to use that idea when I do a quaker stitch!

Wanted you to know what a beautiful kind soul you are. I got home on Wednesday 4/5 feeling scared after the dr office called and gave me a report on my mammogram. I had finally started accepting my kidney diagnosis and then this. So I just wanted some down time and turned on you tube and this video popped up. Since “paying it forward” caught me eye I began watching. Praise God for your testimony- I am in awe of your poise, positivity and of course purpose!!! I am old enough to be your mom and thought how proud she must be of her beautiful daughter. So as of today I have watched all of your videos and will go back and like them all. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, passion and most of all those positive and hopeful vibes. Blessings to you and your journey❤️

Hello to you, New Flosstuber!! From watching you I wouldnt be able to tell that you are new to filming yourself on video. You are a natural! And your work? Fugget-abowt-it!! Really such pretty work. You are very prolific. It makes a difference to have a project always at hand so that you can stitch for even 5 minutes, IMHO. Those 5 minutes stack up. My return to stitching has become my therapy and happy place! I often say I hope there is stitching in Heaven! Enjoy those retreats! They sound fun! I've never been to one, but I hear lots of fun stories on Flosstube. Can't wait for your next video!

I have just found you Lisa and watched your episodes backwards.I love all your WIP and your enthusiasm for cross stitch.I am stitching on a Satsuma Street piece called Pretty Little Berlin which is where our youngest grandson was born,in 2021. I stitched Pretty Little London for his older brother in 2017 because he was born there.We live in the northwest of England. I have had to wait for a cataract op. to be able to pick up my stitching again and I am loving it. Lisa i am so glad I found you. I was looking for newer ones to watch and yours was suggested when I looked. What a journey you have been on. Prayers you can keep doing what you love. I love your reason for starting a flosstube. This community is so great. I didn't think I was down the rabbit hole but after hearing you talk about what we do on a daily basis I think I was wrong. Its bad when you cant even take a shower without watching LOL Its what I do besides all the crafting and kitting up in cross-stitch. I started my channel just over a year ago but my progress is so little compared to all the others I watch. I just enjoy sharing what I do and wanted to be a part of it as well. Having a record of what i start was another reason. its a little out of control! I feel I am such a slow stitcher and I've started way too many things. Just being able to crosstitch and craft something seems to be enough for me the last few years. It took me a couple years to start a channel and the last few months has really been a struggle to get back at it. I think I took on a little more than I thought I could manage with the other things I so enjoy doing. I have to craft every day! I love to organize, sew, (yes and even just collect) all the things! haha With a husband and family life time has just got away. Im just happy to sit and stitch on things so editing and recording haven't happened. One day at a time is how I look at it and very grateful to be able to do the things we love. I look forward to listening and thanks for sharing.

In 2018, one year after losing my mom, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Two months after that, as a result of a scan for colon cancer, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I, too, went through the chemo and the radiation. Were it not for my needlework, I don’t know how I would have gotten through. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for starting a channel. Thank you also for your smile and positivity. Cancer truly forces us to reframe our view of life. I’ve found that the decision to face each day looking for the good is what helps me most, as hard as that is to do. Holding a needle in my hand somehow makes it a bit easier. ❤️

I am very sorry you are in a battle with breast cancer. I pray so much that it stays at bay. My mom has stage IV breast cancer. Her original cancer was gone for 11 years and now has returned. So far the treatments are keeping hers under control. I had kidney cancer a couple of years ago and just had my follow-up scan last week and it has not returned praise God. I wish cancer would just leave the earth. On a happier note, at least we have cross stitch to turn our attention to and make us very happy. Take care and happy stitching.

I just want to say that you are an inspiration to all of us. I can’t imagine what you are going through, you are a warrior, you are in my prayers. My mother-in-law was a breast cancer survivor. She lived to almost 96. She also was a real trooper and fighter she never gave up. I love all your stitches. I also have the pattern Fruits of Plenty. I haven’t started it yet. I like you idea of reverse stitching and using 4 colors.

I’ve only made it halfway through your video and will need to finish watching tomorrow, but wanted to thank you for sharing your story. You radiate gratitude and joy. I will pray for you, Lisa. Also, your projects are gorgeous and inspiring. I’ve wanted to try a HAED for some time but have been intimidated. Most of them say they are stitched on 25 count Lugana and I don’t think these 70-year old eyes would be able to manage it. So it was encouraging to see yours stitched on 18-count Aida which I love to stitch on. I would greatly appreciate a tutorial on how you grid and also I will watch the video you recommended for stitching diagonally. Getting kind of excited at the possibility now of a HAED! I’m so impressed with how much you’ve accomplished in the last 9 months, not only with your wips but also the beautiful finishes on your shelf behind you. I love all your patterns and have some in common with you. I’m almost at the end of stitching Morning Charm by Leonid Afremov and it’s really been worth the effort so I think you’ll love yours once it’s done. My mum said I’d have time for hobbies for the first time in my working life when I got my breast cancer diagnosis and she was absolutely right. It seems that your mum had the same idea 😀. I also love to stitch on 18 count Aida with one strand of DMC thread. I just LOVE your New Normal stitch. Your choice of colors is awesome, and I love how you explained that you use the darker for the main parts of the stitch and the lighter for the ones in the background. I am going to have to use that idea when I do a quaker stitch!

Wanted you to know what a beautiful kind soul you are. I got home on Wednesday 4/5 feeling scared after the dr office called and gave me a report on my mammogram. I had finally started accepting my kidney diagnosis and then this.
So I just wanted some down time and turned on you tube and this video popped up. Since “paying it forward” caught me eye I began watching.

You are very prolific. It makes a difference to have a project always at hand so that you can stitch for even 5 minutes, IMHO. Those 5 minutes stack up.

My return to stitching has become my therapy and happy place! I often say I hope there is stitching in Heaven! Enjoy those retreats! They sound fun! I've never been to one, but I hear lots of fun stories on Flosstube. Can't wait for your next video!

Lisa i am so glad I found you. I was looking for newer ones to watch and yours was suggested when I looked. What a journey you have been on. Prayers you can keep doing what you love. I love your reason for starting a flosstube. This community is so great. I didn't think I was down the rabbit hole but after hearing you talk about what we do on a daily basis I think I was wrong. Its bad when you cant even take a shower without watching LOL Its what I do besides all the crafting and kitting up in cross-stitch. I started my channel just over a year ago but my progress is so little compared to all the others I watch. I just enjoy sharing what I do and wanted to be a part of it as well. Having a record of what i start was another reason. its a little out of control! I feel I am such a slow stitcher and I've started way too many things. Just being able to crosstitch and craft something seems to be enough for me the last few years. It took me a couple years to start a channel and the last few months has really been a struggle to get back at it. I think I took on a little more than I thought I could manage with the other things I so enjoy doing. I have to craft every day! I love to organize, sew, (yes and even just collect) all the things! haha With a husband and family life time has just got away. Im just happy to sit and stitch on things so editing and recording haven't happened. One day at a time is how I look at it and very grateful to be able to do the things we love. I look forward to listening and thanks for sharing.

In 2018, one year after losing my mom, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Two months after that, as a result of a scan for colon cancer, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. I, too, went through the chemo and the radiation. Were it not for my needlework, I don’t know how I would have gotten through. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for starting a channel. Thank you also for your smile and positivity. Cancer truly forces us to reframe our view of life. I’ve found that the decision to face each day looking for the good is what helps me most, as hard as that is to do. Holding a needle in my hand somehow makes it a bit easier. ❤️

It is so nice to meet you. I really enjoyed your first Flosstube and have subscribed to your channel. I will be looking forward to your next update and news of your vacation to Hawaii. I am very sorry you are in a battle with breast cancer. I pray so much that it stays at bay. My mom has stage IV breast cancer. Her original cancer was gone for 11 years and now has returned. So far the treatments are keeping hers under control. I had kidney cancer a couple of years ago and just had my follow-up scan last week and it has not returned praise God. I wish cancer would just leave the earth. On a happier note, at least we have cross stitch to turn our attention to and make us very happy. Take care and happy stitching.

I just want to say that you are an inspiration to all of us. I can’t imagine what you are going through, you are a warrior, you are in my prayers. My mother-in-law was a breast cancer survivor. She lived to almost 96. She also was a real trooper and fighter she never gave up. I love all your stitches. I also have the pattern Fruits of Plenty. I haven’t started it yet. I like you idea of reverse stitching and using 4 colors.

Hi Lisa, first time watcher here. Heard about you from Angie, the Tiny House Stitcher. I’ve only made it halfway through your video and will need to finish watching tomorrow, but wanted to thank you for sharing your story. You radiate gratitude and joy. I will pray for you, Lisa. Also, your projects are gorgeous and inspiring. I’ve wanted to try a HAED for some time but have been intimidated. Most of them say they are stitched on 25 count Lugana and I don’t think these 70-year old eyes would be able to manage it. So it was encouraging to see yours stitched on 18-count Aida which I love to stitch on. I would greatly appreciate a tutorial on how you grid and also I will watch the video you recommended for stitching diagonally. Getting kind of excited at the possibility now of a HAED! I’m so impressed with how much you’ve accomplished in the last 9 months, not only with your wips but also the beautiful finishes on your shelf behind you. I love all your patterns and have some in common with you. I’m almost at the end of stitching Morning Charm by Leonid Afremov and it’s really been worth the effort so I think you’ll love yours once it’s done. My mum said I’d have time for hobbies for the first time in my working life when I got my breast cancer diagnosis and she was absolutely right. It seems that your mum had the same idea 😀. It’s amazing how much pleasure working with colour and textiles gives. It’s wonderful to see all your positivity and creativity. Sending you much love 💕
