I prefer fishing myself, but mainly because it's cheap, easy, I own the equipment and I know how to do it. I live in a rural area of the Upper Midwest. Hunting is a very big deal here. I know a couple who went deer hunting on their honeymoon. People here do not hunt for sport, they hunt to feed their families. If hunters take more than they can eat themselves, the meat and fur (to sell) are donated to feed the hungry. The meat is not wasted. The Department of Natural Resources is extremely well funded and well run here, and keep a close eye on animal populations. There are high fines for poaching or taking more than your limit. Hunters only take animals that are in plentiful supply. When people say that hunting helps control populations that would otherwise get out of control, they are correct, Deer and rabbits, for example, are a real problem in many areas. I've developed a huge amount of respect for the hunters I've met (which is pretty much everyone here.) These are nature lovers who enjoy being in the outdoors, and who appreciate the animals they take in a healthy way to feed their families, while they provide financially for the state to protect open spaces. I don't hunt myself, but I absolutely support the right of my neighbors to do so. I think it's a great system, now that I see how it really works.

nah most people here aren’t animal activists, it’s the fact that it was a needless kill if he didn’t actually use the bear. For example, the native Americans hunted buffalo but used every bit of every kill, but then the white settlers killed buffalo just for their hides, just like the people in this video.
@@benjaminfrank7780 It doesn't matter, the hunting is legal and is under tight control, the animal he killed is for predator management, If you don't like what you see why would you even watch it snowflake? Maybe you can explain something to me. I am for bear hunting. These 800-pound predators got to be taken out. And what they did to Timothy Treadwell and a great many others proves they are dangerous beyond measure. I do realize they are a creature of God and worthy of life as much as anyone. So when they come after you I could see Killing one. But I am confused about something. How is shooting a bear from 300 yards away Justified? It's fully understood that if one of these 800-lb Predators comes prancing after you then you could kill them in what is called self-defense and self-preservation. But to just blast one hundreds of yards away, what use is that? How is that self-defense and self-preservation?
@@davidlamotta1994 Predator management is essential to prevent overpopulation. When overpopulation happens, there is more cannibalism among their own species and they explore different territories and cause problems in local villages, that is why in the Warning label, I mention that Wildlife Officials monitor and regulate these hunting seasons to prevent problems in the future.
You waited until your friend had a video shot, thus risking a marginal shot as he was entering the brush. Luckily you were able to harvest, but ethical choices were not made on this hunt.

12:15 I just realized that the movie Predator is about us. This man hunted the beast, skinned the hide, stripped the meat and took trophies.
“what a georgeus bear” and kills it
Right?! It makes zero sense. These people need to be mauled by one of its kind for what they do to them.
What do you want a medal?

Freakin' monster! Pretty blessed that you were close to camp. You boys have beat the crap out of Alaska for several years now.
Thank you Oscar
@@davidlamotta1994 Predator management is essential to prevent overpopulation. When overpopulation happens, there is more cannibalism among their own species and they explore different territories and cause problems in local villages, that is why in the Warning label, I mention that Wildlife Officials monitor and regulate these hunting seasons to prevent problems in the future.
@@Stuckntherut1 Yeah there's overpopulation of humans, dangerous, dangerous, cannibalism. I'll think its best to kill them!
Catarina Andersson war takes care of that problem
It's majestic and beautiful until it is mauling you
@Johnny Tobee we have as much right to be there as they do. If the bears want to attack they can. Like you said Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
WHAT A DUMB DUMB COMMENT, HERE IS SOME ADVICE WATCH YOUR SURROUNDINGS & STAY OUT OF THE WOODS IF YOU AFRAID OF A MAULING.
Y’all don’t realize how many young fawns that bear has probably eaten
You waited until your friend had a video shot, thus risking a marginal shot as he was entering the brush. Luckily you were able to harvest, but ethical choices were not made on this hunt.
what calliber are u using for that shot ?
I absolutely disagree on hunting any predator for trophy but in retrospect a proper regulation on tags helps the moose and deer population in certain season.
Or if it has killed humans. This is just sickening.
My gosh, you big men with very big guns are so brave, . Can never understand a person wanting to take a life just for kicks.
“What you gonna do with this thing” Maybe take care of your meat what did you shoot it for if you don’t know what your gonna do with it? What kind of hunter does that?
This was my daily adventure as a kid ,no offense to rut folks,i grew up with these animals and also dad was busch pilot ,opened the airport for western airlines on kodiak 1967
Tico4940...When was the last time you visited Kodiak? It has changed a lot since 1967. What is your last name?
Killing a bear like that just to say you are 'blessed' on video and some social media likes? Wtf man
What an awful 400 yard shot in the rump of a running grizzly.
