Guys drive drunk, have their license taken, drive drunk again, without license this time and simply just kill people. That's real madness.
In Poland fines for speeding are really low in comparison to our neighbouring countries, that's why everybody drives so fast. But you have to be aware that if you double the speed limit in built-up area, the police can take your driving license. So remember that the maximum speed in built-up area is 99 km/h :-).
Just to clarify, the rule for taking away the driving license [getting it banned for 3 months] is 50 km/h above the speed limit in the built-up area. So, this is double in the default situation (50 km/h limit), but if the speed limit on a particular road is 30 or 70, then to get your license banned you would have to go 80 or 120 respectively.
Congratulations! You are perfect driver! You respect the speed limits, correct distance between vehicles and your ride is smooth. In Poland we have big problem with disrespecting those regulations... keep it up! Regards!

Yeah, Polish drivers have little respect for speed limits. And it's highly unlikely to get a speeding ticket on a freeway unless you go 200 kph or more. Polish freeways are usually of decent quality and in a good shape though. Hope you enjoyed the ride.

Question for Poles in the ojczyzna... I'm 50/50 Polish & Austrian and in 🇦🇹, Germans have a bad reputation for disregarding the generous speed limit of 130 km/h. As a result, Germans are referred to as "Piefke" which refers to the Prussian bandleader and some vulgar insults are often uttered by Austrian motorists. Is this also a problem in Poland? Dziękuję!
Generally, I would say Germans are not bad drivers. Driving in Germany is a privilege, not a necessity. I would say that there is a very good driving etiquette among German drives. Generally they maintain the distance and don't overtake from the right. It might be because they are used to higher speeds, and perhaps some may not even know that there is a speed limit. On the other hand, Polish drivers break the laws intentionally. For Polish drivers speed limits are more guidelines than rules. I have personally driven through Austria many times and it doesn't seem like a place where you can go really fast for a long time. The motorways are curvy and there are a lot of tunnels, especially in the higher Alps. Even if there are sections where you can go really fast, it makes no sense to do that, because your average speed to the destination will still not be as high as in Germany or Poland. You will also get a lot of tickets from the speeding cameras. Not to mention that your carbon footprint will very likely be significantly higher. Poland, however, is mostly flat with very long sections of somewhat straight motorways and nearly all high speed roads in Poland were built recently and adhere to the highest standards in the world. Therefore these roads are safe and adapted for high-speed driving. But to answer your question... Polish people are notorious for breaking the speed limit laws. In fact, Polish people notoriously break the laws that are inconvenient to them. It is very likely that this has to do with the fact that Poland was partitioned and ruled in the past by other nations including Austria. Question: if, for the sake of an example, Russia annexed Austria today, would you abide by the laws imposed by the invader?
Nah. Poles are also speeding. Drivers from Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine have worst reputation in Poland. Especially TIR drivers from that countries. They are considered as unpredictable drivers on the road.
a lot of cars with german license plates are driven by Poles I think about 60-70% so it is not like in AT where you see cars with German license plates and suspect that it is driven by German. But travelled as a passenger with German driver in Poland and avarege speed was about 180km/h

In Poland fines for speeding are really low in comparison to our neighbouring countries, that's why everybody drives so fast. But you have to be aware that if you double the speed limit in built-up area, the police can take your driving license. So remember that the maximum speed in built-up area is 99 km/h :-).
In build up area you shouldn't drive more than 60km/h
Just to clarify, the rule for taking away the driving license [getting it banned for 3 months] is 50 km/h above the speed limit in the built-up area. So, this is double in the default situation (50 km/h limit), but if the speed limit on a particular road is 30 or 70, then to get your license banned you would have to go 80 or 120 respectively.

Of course the bundle of cash was thick. ATMs in Poland are usually used to take out some small amounts to hae some change, since almost everything here is paid either via card, NFC phone/watch payments or with other cashless means. I barely use any cash in my daily life at all, it's extremely oldfashioned and out dated to use cash here.
I used to live like you. Now I understand the dangers of relying too much on electronic payment. I have switched to cash completely.
@@darek4488 what danger?
@@ypabloworld I guess you haven't followed the events in Greece or Cyprus. At any point in time the government can just shut you money off or limit you how much of it you can use daily. @@darek4488 it's more a matter of being aware of the general situation. Sure, Greece is an extreme example of exponential debt growth, but right here, right now Poland is not anywhere near that point. At this moment there is no reason not to use electronic means of payment only.

Unless, you are conducting shady transactions, you have nothing to worry about in a digital world. As about your stack of bank notes... Well you don't own them anyway, and their value is not determined by you or anyone you know personally. This is property of a Central Bank. And that is owned, by, well... An agreement between a state and a very influential family who has been in control of the world's money supply for more than two centuries. In fact, you don't get to own permanently anything you buy... Either in your pocket or in the bank account, it's not yours forever anyway. Ask any Venezuelan what they think about cash. I am being sarcastic, but... That should get the thinking process started. 😂
Welcome to Poland, I love Australia :)
its not b/c of being in EU that there are no border checks.
