I like how Jin is worried for Xiaoyu, but I also like how Heihachi knows Xiaoyu is just as much of a fighter as the rest of people in the tournament despite being young and smallest in height
Makes sense. Heihachi took Xiaoyu in because prior to this tournament, she stowed away on a boat belonging to the Mishima Zaibatsu. When the guards found her, despite her size and lack of strength, she single-handedly defeated all of them.
This is something the anime didn't mentioned but Xiao Yu study on Mishima's highschool because she sneak into a cruise ship (where Heihachi was) beat the living hell out all heihachi's bodyguards and demand him... Something... (I don't remember what it was) Heihachi love her attitude so much that he offer her a full scholarship

People forget that Xiaoyu impressed Heihachi enough to pretty much adopt her into his care.
i remember on one of the tekken games jin was knocked out and they were in the plane with heihachi and xiaoyu and heihachi picked up jin and thrown him off the plane xiao tried to go and save him but heihachi held her back

@@ghostygirla It was only Heihachi who found Jin and tossed him out of a helicopter. Xiaoyu had nothing to do with that. In her ending she wanted her own amusement park and Heihachi tricked her into making happen and instead it was amusement park. She kicked him in the face after that.
Hope we get to see more of Nina Williams and her love-hate relationship with her sister Anna. She's lethal, cold hearted, intimidating, beautiful and badass. She's got it all !

I always thought that he respected her grandfather wang who was best friends with his father jinpachi so he regards her family highly and her tenacious personality. I think heihachi just hates men and has a soft spot for women. Except Kuma and somewhat respects other men like lee and lars.

And Xiaoyu is iconic in her own right for she is more like Chun-li, a honorable fighter who fights not to kill and not use cheap low tatics like kicking her opponent in the junk like Nina.
@@atollo87 Xiaoyu single-handedly defeated all of Heihachi's security guards at her FIRST GAME, and most likely not that good of a training. With the training she got after the 3rd game and going on she most likely IS a great fighter. I mean, Nina was a little strange for underestimating Xiaoyu like this but she's not just a "little brat".
Ngl, I love the animation style. That is a solid combination between traditional 2d drawing and cgi without making it look unfitting to each other. They mesh here really well and the camera is well choreographed, allowing us to understand and follow the action like any good fight scene should be (that isn't superhuman).

Xiauyo is trained by Wang of both Piguaquan and Baguazhang fighting style. She should never be underestimated.
Wang trained Xiaoyu in 5 ancestral punch & pigua, not baguazhang... Even if Wang is excell in baguazhang

Ling did her homework. And strategized on how to beat Nina. To make up for her Lack of experience, she let her opponent tire herself out to be able to deal with finishing blow
For real. If not for Nina being a bit tired out, her hold against Xiaoyu would be tight enough for Xiao to be unable to free herself.
Im sorry but not when we actually pay attention to the movements and dont disregard their methods. Nina as a character is designed with very little flashy techniques. Its all limited movements and basic strikes intended for precision lethality. Ling on the other hand is constantly rolling, flipping and leaping 15 feet into the air. Just because she's running away the entire time, doesnt mean she's using less energy. What he said doesnt match with whats going on.

@@Brad-zb7rr That's the thing, Every hit Nina is doing is intended to finish her opponent, she's clearly hitting her with heavy precision strikes that aren't working. that's how she's getting worn out. You saw that big attack she did right before the grab? Assassins are meant to kill their targets as fast as possible and Ling was not allowing her to do that.
A comedy spinoff starring Jin, Ling and Hwaorang would be the shyt. They make and awesome trio.

Nina literally snapped Xiaoyu's limbs in a pretty tight lock, the next second Xiaoyu dishes out punishment like nothing ever happened. WTF?

Xiaoyu winning against nina is literally not an impossible feat omg, nina is an assasin, she aint built for pure hand to hand combat, she needs her weapons, gun, bomb knife to win against xiaoyu who's a kung fu prodigy since she was a child and is a student of wang, one of the most skilled fighters in tekken. Coz xiaoyu is younger and smaller yall would think she's weak af, when are yall gonna move on from that mentality 🙄

Did Nina use any of those weapons in this fight against Xiaoyu in a 1 on 1 fisticuffs fight? Yeah I don't think so. No matter what profession the fighter is doesn't counts against other storng opponents. Jin who is schoolboy himself but yet manage to beat an old wing chun master,a tiger wrestler,his grandfather that taught him how to fight Mishima style and a literal god. Only difference is he's the protagonist so of course he'll always win.

I love how fluid the characters move it brings so much to the table
love that every detail came out from their actual moveset. Even the hit effects. Shouldve been Nina as the winner tho. Having xiao win and getting stomped later literally did nothing for her character. If they swapped places, it wouldve been justified at least.
How? Even if Nina won the match against Xiao the story will much like the fights wouldn't change much. Nina would get bodied by King and would team up with Hwoarang & Paul to fight True Orge and still lose. It makes more sense here becuase Jin has made friends with Hwoarang & Xiaoyu that support each other.
@@akilcharles3473 nina is on the same wavelength as king as theyre both veteran seasoned fighters. Losing to him doesnt reduce her character. Xiaoyu is an apprentice of wang who is a high school student. She would still be able to support jin the same way she did even after losing to nina.

Hell Jin as we see is an/once apprentice to Heihachi but manage to defeat to likes of King and Leroy who even Leroy is new to Tekken is an old man who has history with the Mishima and is a master of wing chun. However I chalk this one up with Jin since he's the protag which he never lose.

Let's all remember that NIna during the events of Tekken 3 has been in cryogenic sleep for 15 years and had also suffered amnesia from it.
Stands to reason why she would be quite weakened, but she was still a very dangerous fighter. She just got cocky because of Xiao's carefree nature.

Strange fight. Nina is not one to get mad easily, at best, sarcastic. Also Nina was able to keep up with Heihachi in Tekken 7, hard to believe she'd lose to Xiaoyu and that Xiaoyu had enough hand to hand combat experience at this time to keep up with the likes of Nina/Anna.

I was thinking about the same. Xiaoyu should lose this fight. Xiaoyu is cute but Nina outmaches her with experience and everything. The lost battle of Xiaoyu could be more dramatic and better for the show in my opinion.

Agreed. Both Nina's and Xiaoyu's personality were different than from what we know from the game. They wanted Xiaoyu to win so she won. Don't know why. I have a feeling that no matter what many people who are fans of Tekken will have a disagreement with how this fight went mainly because of the change in the personality of the characters.
That’s because ling is robot in this series. Jumping, evading, moving, has injured arm and neck but still has no sign of tiredness or exhaustion whereas nina had shown it. Realistically xiaoyu lost when nina almost broke one of her arms joint part.
Never underestimate Xiaoyu. She did her homework to strategize how to defeat Nina Williams herself. Xiaoyu is caring and beautiful and she's confident and badass she's got the potential!

She's actually my top 1 female of tekken even if she's one of the weakest. In some datas, she's actually the second strongest female in tekken.Nina remains on top 1and Anna is on top 8.

Here's hoping with future seasons, the show gets increased number of episodes so more stuff can be fleshed out.

Despite the matches outcome being veeeeeeery questionable this was by far the best fight in the show so far. The pace felt like an actual fight and it kept you on your toes. 🧡🤜💥🤛🏻💜
Nah. Best fight was Paul VS King. In this one the outcome was kind of obvious, since you basically have Heihachi praising Xiaoyu during the whole fight.

Meanwhile, Nina is always on the thick of it, so the collective perception is that Lin is just a school girl who's good at martial arts while Nina is the deadliest assassin on Earth - there is even that scene where she manages to defeat a dozen soldier in 30 seconds in front of Dragunov, that's some wild stuff.

Very out of character for Nina. She's an extremely strategic assassin, along with Anna. Also Xiaoyu has never been so cocky. Sassy yes, but she's always been very cute-sy in both her stories and in her pre and post fight lines. She was trained by Wang, sure, but the Williams were trained by both their parents in two different arts and are professionals.
If they had kept them in line with their game selves, Nina would've curb stomped Xiaoyu.

I'm not a Xiaoyu main but I agree with the outcome of this fight. Xiaoyu is a prodigy and a honorable fighter who didn't use any cheap underhanded tatics against an opponent who wanted to kill her in the tournament.

SInce when is that girl gifted with stamina and body robustness??? She is the personification of the 2 "ile": agile and fragile! Not exactely Hulk.

So many memories as a child to a teenager. I watched my brother play tekken games and we got bunch of them on Playstation. Then I love watching him play and the clips are great before Netflix came. I would love to see them in the future. As long as they stay ture to the series.

Nina losing this fight isn't a big deal. It's how clean she lost and outclassed she got. Xiaoyu took everything nina gave and just shrugged it off like it was nothing. Even John Cena struggles alittle bit before winning. What they should have done is have anna injure nina prior to the match so the audience knows nina isn't at full strength and can't give it her all. Xiaoyu still dominates the fight and wins while nina losing dosent take any credibility away.
@@amornoro2076 Just like Jin Ling has gone immense training and is consider a prodigy in her own right. She's been able to endure pain and dish it out while also observing her opponent. She wouldn't be taking part in King of the Iron Fist tournament against many other strong and proffesional combatants if she wasn't.

In no world should Ling take more hits than Nina, let alone tire Nina out which was never shown. Nina is Paul level, who rivaled Kazuya before his devil transformation.
I think it's fine. It's their first encounter in the show and she just underestimated Xiaoyu because of her appearance, shit like that happens.

This was a great show and I love that they used actual moves from the game, but in this particular scene they did Nina bogus. She definitely should’ve won. I saw someone else in the comments said they should’ve traded Nina for Anna in this because Anna is the more cocky one that would’ve likely lost to a teen like Xiao and that’s facts

This fight took away all of Nina's credibility tbh. Nina is a top tier hand to hand fighter and a prodigy since childhood in hand to hand combat. She's been experimented on and is actually superhuman. How can she lose so easily! An injured Nina or being mind controlled by Ogre Nina would have made a little bit more sense to lose.
She was portrayed here as short temprered amatuerish fighter. How is Jin supposed to hire her as his bodyguard and righthand woman to run the Mishima zaibatsu and lead his world wide war when she can't handle a school girl!!!

Nina is undeniably one of the most dangerous fighters in the history of Tekken, and has gone toe to toe with Heihachi Mishima. Nina is cold, calculated, and merciless, she has fought and defeated so many people, many of them being men that tower over her 5'3 figure and defeated them effortlessly. Just watch some of the cutscenes in her solo game, and you'll see what I mean. She is a woman not to be trifled with, a master of armed and unarmed combat, knows countless ways to break body parts and kill people, and honestly has no problem doing either of those things. The fact she lost to a little girl who is still in High School is complete bull, and you still lie as if you think otherwise.
This looked great!!! I hope this series does well enough for me to eventually get to see my favorite Tekken character, Miguel.

I find absurd considering that Xiaoyu was afraid of Anna in Blood Vengeance. The overall end of this match was dumb, Ling would never defeat Nina.

@@emanthescripter1076 Neither Bloodline is canon. Blood Vengeance may not have canon events, but is the most accurate in terms of Characters. She never tried to confront her, not even when Anna choked her, and always did what she was told, out of fear. It was until after Alisa got injured that Ling stood up to her.

Plus ling xiaoyu isnt't an idiot. Why attack the mission director that could lead you to the person you've been trying to search for, which was jin.

People who complain that Xiaoyu wins despite being in a joint lock - remember, there were many times in the games where characters could take joint locks, neck breaks, spine twists and other crippling or fatal blows and holds and all it did was knock a chunk of life bar off. That's why it's easy for me to shrug it off and say 'just like the games'.

I'm a xiaoyu player, and I think it's plausible that Xiaoyu can beat Nina no matter how strong she is. I have beaten many good Nina and King players online with Xiaoyu. Xiaoyu's strengths are that due to her speed, her small size, and her ability to dodge attacks from her, it makes it very possible to counterattack with her after dodging an attack, which is the strategy I use.
It would have been possible for her to beat King if she had kept her distance, considering King is a hold master. I never sit still defending when I play against a King player, since if he grabs me once I'm screwed.
Ling main here too. While I was pleased that Ling won against Nina. I was displeased with how she lost against King. Simply because meta wise Ling is a poor match up for King. I would have accepted her beating King and then getting beaten by Nina instead.
Xiaoyu players are spoiled with mobility tools and crushing. This is why she wins.
Tekken 7 impresses me in how well balanced it is, and how all characters are viable (with perhaps only one or two exceptions like Gigas or Kuma). Part of it being that characters have so many tools they can adapt to pretty much anyone. Take the King vs Xiaoyu matchup for instance. King's normal game-plan doesn't work against Ling, but a more defensive King who's willing to hold back and leverage their mids and punishment options can give a Ling player a hard time.
Haha nice try. Ling received a lot of damages from nina’s attacks and should cause decreases on her move and attack speed due to it’s arm’s joint injury and neck strain. Ling’s fighting style’s way more energy draining than nina’s so logically ling’s stamina should wear off sooner than nina’s. It’s not ling able to beat nina. It’s plot armor.

You know, it would be interesting if a Tekken game have an energy/stamina bar that makes you tired after doing too much combo moves to prevent spamming attacks.
Nina is an assassin, so she would've done her homework on every single fighter at the tournament, and although Xiayou is my first love when it comes to Tekken Characters, I don't but this fight at all. Xiayou was used to futher to story because of her connection to Jin. Nina can handle Anna, even went for Kazuya's head, she can definitely handle Xiayou who might I add couldn't beat Alyssa 🤷🏿

Iirc in Tekken 3, only Ling has a taunt move that does absolutely nothing.
Likely, that or she was just irritating to Nina in general. You have to remember that Nina is a trained killer who's only focus is her mission and she's been through quite alot, so naturally she would be annoyed by Xiaoyu who can afford to care about trivial things like amusement parks
