What he’s done the field consistently is more important honestly like that’s all nice things to do but it has nothing to do with the sport. Give Lockett 2 more 1000 yard seasons and he’s got great stats to finalize his career 🎉
Apparently that “Freedom” allowed the Seahawks to be the the 5th most penalized team in the league last year! People like to say the O-Line was the problem or the run stopping was the problem. IT WAS PENALTIES! We had sooo many drive altering penalties last year taking away good plays it was a JOKE
@@ChristopherMHeaps I agree that metcalf has been a problem for the penalties but idk if you have realized but the amount of penalties went down this year. Guess how many penalties he committed? just a random guess because you guys act like its every game 😂straight up haters man
Penalties were 1000% the reason we lost to Dallas. Sure, the defense was struggling, but committing DPI three times on drive ending plays is killer. We would have made a wildcard birth if we won that game.
It's nothing new. The Seahawks have been near the top of penalties since Pete Carroll started. Under Holmgren the Seahawks were low on penalties but Holmgren teams had a soft culture.
I moved to Bellvue, Wa. in 1978, just when the Seahawks were formed. I caught the FEVER. we had Zorn, Largent, and Efron Herrera. We didn't win 'em all, but we were competitive! Our offense was fun to root for, and we would beat the RAMs and the Niners every year. this year, I feel optimistic about our chances

The difference between the two coaches? Discipline. With Pete you had a very loose culture and freedom like in a college style yahoo atmosphere. Treating the players like boys. With coach Mac, you have structure, discipline, accountability and self responsibility. Like the military, you are equipped and trained to become men and then you go out to battle/war.
Tyler doesn’t sound happy. Like it or not, the military mindset underlies most team structures. The attitude sucks though. Hopefully, the spirit of Pete remains strong.
MacDonald is trying too hard to NOT be Pete. Seahawks gonna regret this. Edit: SEVERAL people have missed the point of my post. I said trying "too" hard. Not that pivoting is bad, but ripping the wins off the wall, removing the hoop from the meeting room, being more militaristic. This, cumulatively, is bad.

We love T Lock 🙌
and we love B Wagz
He's an All-Time great Seahawk, for all he has done on and off the field. If any athlete is a role model, it's Tyler Lockett.

Tyler Lockett: wide receiver, real estate agent, politician. lol
he learned how to dance around a question from Pete
Lockett and Pete are underrated. Respect x2.

Pete Carroll is entirely to blame for it.
The team needed structure. And no the 1990s philosophies were not structure.
The numbers don't lie!

I've been complaining about their lack of discipline for years. #12
Yeah I love Coo Mo Pete but last year was out of freaking control! Especially with the YoungStars!
Rich Eisen, you have always been such an incredible interviewer - really on a different level. Such poignant questions and interpretations.

i like how Rich said “i promise I’m not trying to get a big headline quote out of you” and then immediately posts a clip with a salacious headline
Yep heard that one playing high school football on Time is Late ⏰ early is on time
I can see that, but let's not forget what a great coach Carroll was
all teams have structure, it's just a matter if it's good structure or bad structure
TyLo top 10 WR in the NFL 💙💚
So Tyler likes freedom, but he also likes structure. Just like kids! Cool...
Rich with the trash questions Pete Pete Pete Pete
Hopefully we feed him the ball gets him 1000+yards
Idt we can judge most of our players until we see how our players play under our new scheme / coaches
If your coach is not the disciplinary type then you better have strong player leadership. unfortunately Hawks haven't had that for last 9-10 years.
I’d say the leadership side of things only really dropped off after the 2020 season, which incidentally was KJ Wright’s last season as a Seahawk.
what is that room he is in?
padded cell
For Seahawks fans, all we care is to win. Who cares about the structure/culture changes.
Honestly. Every team does it every year 😂
Building a good culture gets individuals to perform at their best, performing at the best = more wins
Don't talk to people like this Lock he tryna set you up !!!
for real

Go Lockett!!!

That's no big deal Pete jammed music and everything was loose He still got results we got a SB went to another and playoffs most every year except 2
That's about as close as the ever-polite Lockett will get to saying "Yeah, you overreacted"
Miss Pete but sometimes you gotta move on.

Pete Carroll dismantled the Seahawks former identity when he became head coach there's nothing different
