GMC Topkick Cat 3116 Cold Start

I have a 91 topkick with a 3116 cat. smokes like hell just like that to when its cold. But when you plug the block heater in, it doesnt smoke.

Samuel Jones it wasn’t a leak. It just had a dump pipe under the cab.

Doesn’t look all that cold... I would say you have a fuel problem, like air in the lines that had to be purged before it could build enough pressure to start firing. Pinhole in a fuel line will cause this...

rronmar It was 20 degrees Fahrenheit when the video was taken. It started great in the summer but terrible anywhere below 40 degrees. It was like this every winter for the three or so years I owned it.
