The one thing Duke is lacking is a great point guard. Jason Williams was a great PG. If you were to replace him in his prime with Tyrese Proctor or Caleb Foster, and there's no way Duke would have blown their 2nd half lead. It can't be all Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel. They need to feed the post more with Maluach when they have a lead to open up the perimeter shots. Gillis missed an open 3-pointer that could have put the game out of reach. Duke's role players haven't stepped up. Flagg and Knueppel are the two best players in college basketball in my mind, but they need better guard play. Scheyer might need to have Flagg function as a point forward if the starting guards keep costing Duke games.

As a college basketball fan, it's nice to see Kentucky get this win over Duke. College basketball had better get ready for this UK squad! They can shoot the three with anyone and the scary part is, wait until they become totally acclimated with one another. I can see the Wildcats making a deep run come tournament time.
This is scary parts nobody is talking about every player except the center at UK. Has averaged 33% or better behind the arc. They all average 2+ assits a game atleast 1 steal per game and a block per game. And they all are learning real quick to rely on and trust each other on and off the court. All that makes this Kentucky team a scary opponent on any given night.

Flagg has good instincts. In the 14th minute mark of the second half he could sense Duke needed to turn up the offense, started becoming more aggressive. The more experienced players offensive wise were pretty quiet. Maybe because when or lose it did not affect there season... could be the coach wanted to use the game for the star rookies to cut lose a little. As talented as Flagg is he must work on his movement when taking on players one on one. The moves he did in high school are not going to cut it. They do not move with the ball, they move with your core. He needs to learn how to make his dribbles count/effective to throw his defender off balance. Have a plan when he attacks. He is so instinctive, which is one of his assets. When he learns how to hone his conditioning and finds his rhythm for the collegiate level... the after thought of his potential capacity is somewhat terrifying. Because right like all the other rookies he is getting feel for his new environment. I believe mid-season himself along with other rookies in his class will be completely different players just shy of mid-season.

I will give Pope the credit for this win but I still think UK struggles in SEC play. Didn't see a dependable ball handler and outside of Butler perimeter defense was flawed.

This Duke team was suppose be a hot shooting team all the way around. And only having 1 or 2 turn overs per game. HOW did KY get a team shooting almost 50% from the first half with 1 turn over. To a team that shot 29% the 2nd half with 7 turnovers? If wasn't playing defense?
