i literally just started watching today and watched an earlier video when you mentioned using this pan... i was so excited for this video to come out when, low and behold... what perfect timing! just subbed
Thankful you’re staying healthy my boy, keep up the great work and stay grinding. Sometimes a bad day just needs a lil firststatefishing to turn it around and I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say we’re super thankful for you.
Yes poppers! I suggested that last video :) I’ve been using a fly rod and small popper fly. Almost landed a nice largie last week but the sunfish have been going crazy for it. Lots of fun watching them hit the bait on top.
I recently discovered your channel and I think it is amazing. You're a cool person and I feel like I'm learning to fish from you. Thank you for the content. Keep your head up. Your content is great. Thank you.
Loving the creek fishing vids. Recovering from the Suds right now. Did not lose my sense of smell or taste. My wife did lose those senses from Covid a year and a half ago and still hasn’t got them back fully yet
I got covid about 6 months ago and just a month ago I started tasting again. Now depending on my allergies, i sometimes stop tasting again. Smells been pretty weak, gotta force a deep breath to really smell something
Snap Beans is highly underrated imo. It's caught me a fairly wide variety of fish, even those you wouldn't expect to take a lure. Like tilapia and grass carp.
Why don't you try Garrison's lake in Smyrna, DE I've caught several 7+ pounders there but I've been in Georgia for 15 years I sure would like to see it again. If you really want to do a catch and cook great catfish + rockfish at Smyrna jetty just south of the Ceder Swamp boat ramp.
It's good to hear you are feeling much better. for the illness many pple at work had it and lost taste, some it only lasted a few months one over a year. "We are throwing this dude on inventory", Nice day of catching nice variety. How about heading to the salt water for some fishing.
That was a channel catfish and a good size to eat as well and good to eat. Whoa I wished I had one of them ultralight rods and reel combo from Lews my kiddos would probably take it from me but I wouldn't care. I'm so glad your doing these creek fishing videos. Maybe you should do like a 24 hour creek camp out like you do at the ocean that would be cool. I like to see all your videos I mean I want you to know how much I appreciate you going out in the heat and making these awesome fishing videos for us all to enjoy so thanks. Take care of yourself and stay safe out in that heat and till the next's one GodBless and Tight Lines.
Nice catch! Thats a male channel catfish. Here's a challenge for you. 10 dollar tree survival challenge. You can spend 10 dollars on items to build a waterproof shelter, build a campfire and cook 2 meals. Since its Delaware instead of 24 hours lets make it 12 hours. Let's go! Channel your inner Bear Grylls.
I use that little floating minnow all the time and is my favorite lure. I usually reel slowly just enough for it to have action and wiggle. Don't jerk it.
I never leave the house without a bitsy minnow. I've caught a 3lb smallmouth and a 4lb largemouth on the blue top shad color (can't remember the exact name, sexy shad with a blue top basically). Creek chubs and sunfish love it as well.
I actually had the same adventure using my Lews with 4lb test. Had a gulp minnow and hooked a 10lb cat. Had to let him run just like you did. Only difference was I was on some rocks and I had a net. I climbed down the rocks holding the rod in one hand and the net in the other 😂. I made it happen tho lol
Dude... don't stop doing creeks.. actually, I'd like to see smaller DE creeks. I've caught some nice rockbass, etc., out of Naamans Creek in Claymont. Come check it out!!
Those rebel minnows are super cheap and work really well surprisingly. We’ve been destroying the striper on the sac river with bigger ones over here in Cali.
@@FirstStateFishing hey I just want you to know I love how you heart and reply to almost everyone’s comment and it means a lot and gives me inspiration to create more content so I just wanted to say thanks
Hey man, you can change out the hooks on lures pretty easy. Get a pair of "snap ring pliers" they have a little special v thing on the tip that let you open up the little split ring thing that the hook is attached to the lure. I like to replace mine with inline single hooks, they are a pretty simple looking hook but the eye is turned and the eye is real wide, they are designed to replace trebles on lures because some places, particularly places that have salmon, don't allow treble hooks. VMC makes a great inmine single hook that is also saltwater rated.
Also I run #6 inline single hooks as replacements on those tiny little crankabits and squarebills, I have a few of the googan squad micro recons and micro bangers, and the smallies destroy those little crabkbaits even with single hooks on them.
dude i have been binge watching all your videos and you inspired me to bug my family to go fishing more i live in Harrisburg, Pennyslvania maybe ill run into you fishing soon when you visity kelsey btw you should catch n' cook carp
I caught a huge redbreast sunfish out of the river. I use trout bait for different presentation. I worked several lures well and nothing. The time of day was suset, and i thought a big smallie was trying to eat flies come to find out it was a redbreast sunfish was big probably over a lb probably pushing 2 lbs
Another fun video man. Reminded me of the Ginger Fisherman here in the UK wading in a small stream fishing. Will try find his video and send it to you to watch. How was the food ?lol
A micro crawdad I'm in Texas it'll catch the bass I feel you and I'm using 6 lb test micro loose love it it's different fishing but I love it but this is lakes you know you do creeks everywhere keep it up by watching your videos I feel your pain I feel your struggle I wish that was your age and I could actually do what you do so kudos you don't stay young forever but give a shout out to camper in your soon-to-be wife congratulations love you bro
Dude you gotta try panfish with fried plantains I thought it was gonna be nasty but it surprised me might do the same for you , we used bluegill but the guy said any pan fish would work
I got one of those pans one year from my son at Christmas. He was around ten and he really wanted me to know that he bought it with his own money. It also came with some brownie mix and a small Toblerone chocolate bar. You were to mix everything together and make a brownie with…..yep you guessed it, Toblerone. It was really good and we still use them around Christmas. Unbeknownst either of my boys, my wife bought three more of them. This way we all had one and we could do it together. That was ten years ago and we still do it. I still see them every Christmas for around $5. That’s with the mix. The older boy was so pissed at the youngest for not telling him. Apparently he felt it made him look bad. He said he would have put his name on it too, without of course giving him any money either. Which was why the youngest didn’t tell him. 😏. The youngest still gets me a thoughtful gift every year and the oldest often puts his name on one my wife buys me. Their starving students, so I keep telling them not to get me anything. The oldest is a great kid too, don’t want you to get the wrong impression, he does good things too, just in different ways.
COVID half killed me, but my taste came back as soon as I got better. My wife had a much more mild case, but her sense of taste didn't come back for over two years, and still isn't normal.
What should we catch n' cook next?? 🤔Really appreciate yall for watching!
Flounder or a weird ocean fish I don’t live anywhere close to an ocean so I think it would be cool
The same thing but 24 hours it would be so funny
Did you see my comment on your last video, also I would like to see some saltwater catch and cook also love all you videos,BIGGEST fan keep it up
If you're out ocean fishing definitely would like to see some flounder or rock bass if it's freshwater definitely wanna see some catfish or crappie
Catch n Cook eel pls

Excellent work and patience landing that nice catfish on light tackle. Should do a catch and cook on one of those.
Rock Bass are for sure my favorite creek fish.

I use the topwater popers, and I catch Alligator guards and bass on them.
Scientifical!! Solid word forsurski
You should take the fly rod out to one of those creeks and try and get some bass and panfish.
The catfish catch was brilliant. You effing kill me.

@Firststatefishing you can use slime line. It's super abrasion resistant
Catfish was definitely a channel cat super awesome video like always keep it up man
Thank you
I like to use that cranbait because it works pretty good and bass love it
LMFAO I did NOT expect the pan to be the focus. Fucking legend 😂😂😂
I always take the front hook off of those micro crank baits it's so small it doesn't matter then you don't have the same fish hooked several times
do you have any pond/lake recommendations near lewes?
