As a Russian, it's so fascinating and it makes me so happy that Leigh Bardugo took elements of 18th century tsarist Russia for her books. You don't really get to see much of that style nowadays. :)

would Medetteranean people also count as the Suli? Because i'm trying to place myself into this world and seem like that's the closest to my heritage being Sicilian and Egyptian.

Kaz ,would be good at poker because of his stone cold face . Ineg , complicated , assassin but without the killing part , religiousish, practically a slave . Conductor , ( if your watching the show not in the books ) he goes where the money is I’m not sure where you first see Nina and Matthias but I believe it is in king of scars Nina ,a simp , fighter , brave . Matthias also a simp , has trust issues . And there we go I think that’s all the you need to know Oh and don’t forget about Milo : a 🐐
It is very far from GoT. Well, except for the Nina subplot, because that's almost copy + paste from it. (at least so far) Edit : maybe the books were 'cheap', but the show is definitely not. The visuals and the world building are top tier. They clearly put a lot of time and money in those aspects.

As a non-russian I can only agree. It's refreshing to see fantasy that sprung from different influences than the ones we're used to.
