I'm doing my part. Picked up a semi-decent example of one of these for $2k with 230k miles. Total steal in 2023. Like if you have a sticky dash and rusty rockers. 😅
I’ve had three of these, all under 150k. They will almost always come with issues because of age and people treat it like it’s a Toyota. Make sure if you are buying one to do your research. Defiantly replace the timing belt and water pump after buying one regardless if the previous owner says they did it. Other than that it is an awesome car, I own and daily a 2001 Auto with 118,000 miles. 2001 doesn’t have sticky dashboard so something to look for.
i just bought a 02 factory manual with 133k and lsd i love it so far. it came super stanced so im gonna def fix camber/raise a little. it sits on work vs-xx 18x10/18x10.5s its the best car ive ever owned!
I have a 2001 lexus in green and beige interior with header /KN INTAKE AND DEGREE PULLIES AND REAR POSITRACTION RUNS LIKE IT WAS A TURBO!!!!!from PUERTO RICO!!!!
@@StandingTallAutoReviews suspension components and slight a660e issues but no engine, the engine had a valve cover gasket leak but that’s it other than that no leaks and healthy vvti solenoid
Also here’s a list of common problems with these cars that I have personally experienced. Timing belt and water pump failure. (Change every 100k miles) Oil leaks Bad ball joints and wheel bearings Sticky dashboard (2002-2005) No sticky dash for 2001. Warping brake rotors (Rotors seem to always warp no matter the way you drive) Faded paint TRANSMISSION!!! Every IS300 I have had has had transmission issues. Transmission is made of GLASS. Bad TPS Sensor, hard to diagnose. Can cause Rough, High or low idle. Can also cause clunky shifts. And you will defiantly be going through 02 sensors on these cars. You are welcome :)
Personally I don’t see an issue at all. It is an older automatic so it’s not as good as some of the modern setups, but you definitely can still have fun with this one!
Yes I swing my 03 is300 automatic but it came wit lsd n it’s the sport design u just gotta throw it in first gear do a burnout a lil bit turn the whell step on gas u can turn on etc mode gives it more power but burns more gas
The stock auto's fun but geared very short. Perfect for 0-60 but cruising at highway speeds sees you revving at 3k rpm. Perfect for burning a ton of gas. I tend to only use the manual mode to engine brake to red lights. 5>4>3>nuetral. Takes some of the load off of the brakes and sounds good doing so. ❤
I own an 03 is300 factory manual with 135k original miles, love this car and it’s becoming rare especially in a manual
My 01 got 112k miles
Same here! Factory manual, factory LSD!
pls give me ur manual pls ill pay momthly and smoke out
own a 04 manual since 2009 ..swear im never getting rid of it. Car is so much fun to drive

Damn, great review. You've actually really got a knack for it, like straight to the point but not stale.
Appreciate the kind words! Definitely learning video after video and looking to help others where I can!

Seems about right. Tranny is weak but both of mine have lasted 400,000km without failing. They just feel like theyre going to fail lol
Great comment here!! Thanks for sharing!
here in New Zealand, they are the most common skid car that the car community use 🤣
Do automatic still swing?? I’m getting a is300 soon but I think it’s gonna be auto due to not wanting Á completely abused car off the rip 😭
