Even though I can't play it myself, I absolutely love this game. It raises a lot of questions about society and what makes a person. Just because they are programmed robots, doesn't mean they aren't people too. As a fellow artist, the painting scene always tugs at my heartstrings. Luckily, you got a relatively good ending for that part, it could have been a lot worse.
while within the game i agree, it is important and imperative to remember that modern art bots like midjourney and others are designed to steal off of fellow artists like us without permission.
The characters look pretty much just like their voice actors. It's cool that they actually got some more known actors like Jesse Williams, Clancy Brown, and Minka Kelley for this game. The va for Connor, Brian Dechart, actually got into Twitch streaming because of this game.
I just want to say, I love how you appreciate art and got on that level. I also was tearing up because art is a big part of my life and how I express myself. It is so meaningful and really is how I connect best with myself. Thank you for being you and love your content, as always. ❤

....Umm, you might want to use a controller for this game with the difficulty you chose. Not impossible but idk, the keyboard can definitely not be intuitive during QTEs. Unless you're more comfortable/familiar with mouse and keyboard over a controller. Also, yay! 🐠You saved the fish.🐠 You have no idea how many hearts dropped when you walked by the fish without seeing it. Personally, I prefer the relationship between Connor and a character we haven't gotten to yet. Buddy Cop, Father-son vibes.
I love the paintings so much. When I played this game I tried to see if they were available for purchase anywhere, but they're not 😔. The painting doesn't really affect the outcome of that last episode, just what choices you could make. If you listen closely, the song Markus plays seems to be Kara's theme! I'd also recommend controller. I found the interactions easier and the QTEs are less stressful than they are with keyboard/mouse. You missed it, but there was a cop on the roof when you were Connor. If you approach him, you have the option to save him. Get ready for all the emotional damage this game will cause you! I'm so excited to experience this game again through your playthrough

I'm so happy you decided to play this game. I really hope your ending will be perfect, but what I love the most about this game is that it has many roads that you can take. You only has to choose this or that sequence. For sure this will be another amazing and heartbreaking gameplay I'm so in love with games where you can choose whatever answer you want and the outcomes of it.
it's unfortunate that you didnt manage to explore the whole first floor where you can get some drama and see Todd being abusive,overall I enjoyed your gameplay, very relaxing

So exciting to see you play Detroit! I think the robot arm that broke down that you're thinking of when you saw the machine that helps Carl paint is the Can't Help Myself art piece, in which the robot arm was leaking fluid it needed to work and its only task was to shovel the fluid back up to keep itself alive, but it leaked just slightly faster than it could clean so it desperately would scoop up the fluid until it eventually died. I really like D:BH because it looks amazing, it took them 4 years to make this game. The voice actor for Mr Krabs from Spongebob is actually one of the characters in this game, but you havent met him yet :3

You could've gone outside in Todds House if the game didn't trick you into pressing the 'done with the first floor' option because you didn't check the instructions on the scan/pause screen. It's a pet peeve because most ppl miss it but it's really the games fault for leading you to it, rip haha
I hate that the painting scene resonates with me but for the opposite reason. I’ve tried to get into art multiple times and I’ve always felt like Markus did. Tell me what to paint and i can paint it well enough, placement, angles, shading. Fundamentally i understand the process and the methods and can find success at imitating an object, but the whole “imagine something that doesn’t exist” just doesn’t compute. When i try to create i always end up just copying instead, but i adore watching people genuinely create. It’s soo beautiful to see someone with the passion just throw colors around and stuff just appears. But this story is soo good. Excited to see this play out and see how you handle it. How people interact with this game is such an interesting thing, as it really provides a look into peoples headspace on some neat subjects.
WOW. I've seen probably 20 playthroughs of this game and I've never seen anyone use the gun, especially considering that he's holding the hostage near the edge. You were one step away from Speed's "shoot the hostage" strategy.
Aw, seeing you tear up about the art, I did as well. Art has been a big part of my life as well and it can be so incredibly moving. During a time when thing were very difficult my sketchbook was like a visual diary of emotions. I’d love to know who created the Identity/Prisoner painting for the game because they really captured how Marcus and Carl were both prisoners in their own way; it’s a gorgeous, moving work of art. Fun Fact: Todd was inserted to the game which is themed around discrimination and dehumanization as a trope bait to see how many players would rush to hate and dehumanize someone based on the body, face and immutable characteristics ( like skin color ) that they were born with, and then cheekily reaffirms their prejudice of "Yes, all overweight, middle-aged men who aren't models are shitty people who deserve your reaction" by casting Todd and Zlatko's models in the roles that they did. It's interesting to see how many people, particularly female streamers for some reason always fail the meta-test before even getting to the sequences where it's validated and just call to murder him for being 'ugly' more or less.

If you end up liking this game you should try the Until Dawn series, of course it’s a tad bit on the horror side but the graphics look very similar and the storyline is amazing 🙏🏻

Probably because for every other person I saw playing this game played as a pacifist but it felt so unnerving to watch Connor carry a weapon, lie and shoot a bxxch. Like i'm lowkey gonna watch but damn that felt so uncomfortable.

Edits coming as I’m watching 😊 Edit 1: while I totally understand the need to streamline the gameplay for the sake of the Let’s Play, I can’t help but be sad when Rose misses some of those small yet meaningful interactions xD Also, I just wanna say, the actor who plays Marcus (Jesse Williams) is just so fine. He’s really got those pale bright eyes. He also plays Jackson Avery in Grey’s Anatomy! Edit 2: yeeaaaah every little decision you do has an effect on your result. It’s incredible to see especially later down the line how decisions that were made early on are effecting later playthroughs!

Markus was portrayed by actor/activist Jesse Williams (best known his role in Grey's Anatomy). It was a welcomed surprise to see him in this game.
And he used to be a high school teacher. I definitely wouldn't be able to pay attention.

Fun Fact: Todd was inserted to the game which is themed around discrimination and dehumanization as a trope bait to see how many players would rush to hate and dehumanize someone based on the body, face and immutable characteristics ( like skin color ) that they were born with, and then cheekily reaffirms their prejudice of "Yes, all overweight, middle-aged men who aren't models are shitty people who deserve your reaction" by casting Todd and Zlatko's models in the roles that they did.
It's interesting to see how many people, particularly female streamers for some reason always fail the meta-test before even getting to the sequences where it's validated and just call to murder him for being 'ugly' more or less.

If you end up liking this game you should try the Until Dawn series, of course it’s a tad bit on the horror side but the graphics look very similar and the storyline is amazing 🙏🏻

YES! I would of never thought you ever play this game. I loved it when it first came out. I'm so excited what choices you make. With games like these I tend to choose more dark or decisions the majority normally don't take just to be quirky

Probably because for every other person I saw playing this game played as a pacifist but it felt so unnerving to watch Connor carry a weapon, lie and shoot a bxxch. Like i'm lowkey gonna watch but damn that felt so uncomfortable.

Edit 1: while I totally understand the need to streamline the gameplay for the sake of the Let’s Play, I can’t help but be sad when Rose misses some of those small yet meaningful interactions xD
Also, I just wanna say, the actor who plays Marcus (Jesse Williams) is just so fine. He’s really got those pale bright eyes. He also plays Jackson Avery in Grey’s Anatomy!
Edit 2: yeeaaaah every little decision you do has an effect on your result. It’s incredible to see especially later down the line how decisions that were made early on are effecting later playthroughs!
