It was a gas cart. The younger couple in the cart indicated they smelled something burning and the lady in the cart said she felt a lot of heat on her leg. They pulled the cart off to the side and got out and within a minute the golf cart was in flames. Sorry I missed you there Dave - would have liked to have said hello!
Dave & Brenda, I am keeping a good thought for both of you & Brenda's mom. It is difficult to watch a parent struggle with the challenges of aging. Yikes that was quite a fire. Glad there were no injuries. Be well and be safe.
Your videos have definitely been missed, along with Brenda’s insightful commentary. We are a bit anal ourselves about our home search and appreciate your detail-oriented approach & insight to The Villages. Thank you VERY much for all the great videos so far and look forward to your return. Sending positive thoughts for Brenda’s mom’s recovery.
Glad everyone is okay! Shocking to see only the frame remains. Great just to hear your voice on the video again! You and Brenda are missed!! And so glad to hear your Mom is doing better! God bless!
Good to meet you tonight. I’ve been thinking about you and your family. We ran across this after the fire was out. It was burnt down to the frame. Very scary for all involved, but a good reminder to all.
Glad to see you back! Felt sorry for the folks that own this cart. Having a cart in the community that has a golf carts we know how expensive these are to own and maintain. We do not have the number of dealers in Lower Delaware as you have in TV. Looking to see more videos. Happy to hear your Mother in law is doing somewhat better.
It's Good to hear you Dave, Been thinking about you both, Sending healing thoughts and prayers for your dear Mom Brenda, Looking forward to more future videos from you again soon, Glad the couple are safe in this golf cart, frightening situation.
Very glad to hear your voice and know that you are able to produce videos once again even if sporadically. Hang in there and look forward to your next one.
Thank you for your video I am sorry to hear your Mother in law is hurting but I am also glad to hear that the two of you are fine I look forward to see your future videos
Was just thinking about you both today and this popped into my feed suggestions. Hope you and Brenda and her mom are all doing well and have her en route to a speedy recovery.
There are I believe 9 total stations in the villages. The ones at this fire were ladder 45 attack 45 and engine 47. Plus 5 minutes from time of dispatch to arrival isn’t that bad
The smaller truck most likely has a CAF system. Stands for Compressed Air Foam. Foam is most desirable for most vehicle fires (even golf carts) due to its ability to smother the fire and any fuel spilled.
So good to see you or should I say hear you again. I really miss seeing you and Brenda in weekly videos. Hope you will be back at it soon. I also hope Brendas mom is doing well. This is so scary. Who do you get golf car insurance through? Is it through your auto insurance or home owners insurance? What apron does it run. My other concern is theft. What is the best way to prevent this? Is there a boot or something? I did see that you can put a tracking devise on it but I would assume if someone is going to steal it they will check for a tracking device. We have our house on the market. We are looking at Richmond. Any idea when those homes will come available? Aldo do you know if there are many power towers? Seems like every home I look at in De Luna has towers and that is not OK with me. Say hello to Brenda for me.
I wish your mother-in-law a speedy recovery. I know how difficult it is as you age. Thanks for bringing this breaking story to us. I guess a reinforced gas tank is not a bad idea. Sounds like that’s where the fire’s point of origin may have been.
Im sure u must carry insurance on ur golf cart! It was a dangerous situatio n but im glad no one was hurt! My daughter, who is tiny like Linda, is a firefighter or lets say was while here in Pa. If there is to be a favorite fire with FF, this was her fav. Car fires. She and i had an argument about the Condo collapse a little over a yr ago. Since she is only 4’8, and just over 100 lbs, i told her id send her credentials, all she had to do was find the chief that was running the show, so they could send her into the many tiny spaces they were hearing voices, but she said no, refusing to do it. Plus she scored extremely high on her Fema test, but there was no way she wanted any part of it. Thats when we had a huge disagreement. I am learning to shut up but its not easy! (Im a retired nurse who ran with my hometown ambulance and i was also an EMT! Im sure she’d love Linda, as she sat on a hamburger and her feet didnt touch the floor….. lol. Shes verticularly challenged as im sure Linda feels the same. Jerry and Linda, if u ever get to visit the Manatee Co Animal shelter for dogs, stop in to say hi to Mercedes. She works 6:30 AM to 6:30 pm from Tues thru to sat. As an animal specialist!
Things to consider 1) it is very common for people to watch a fire without calling 911 because they thought that someone else called already. 2) after 30 seconds, that golf cart was doomed and not save able. 3) the public safety department has had 77 calls just in the last 24 hours, so units could be responding from further distances than they would normally do.

So very glad you and Brenda are fine. I was worried about you guys and Brenda’s mom.
Wow. Thanks. Where have you been??? We are long time Village residents but out traveling for the summer…miss your vids.
Really nice to hear from you!
That’s my son on the hose line putting out the fire!! Good job son
Damn. That’s a helluva fire for a cart.
My prayers are with you guys
Good catch. Thk u
Where in Tarnations is the fire department ?? Aren’t there 7 fire house at The Villages ?
There are I believe 9 total stations in the villages. The ones at this fire were ladder 45 attack 45 and engine 47. Plus 5 minutes from time of dispatch to arrival isn’t that bad
So, do the local firefighters respond on golf cart-size fire apparatus ?
The smaller truck most likely has a CAF system. Stands for Compressed Air Foam. Foam is most desirable for most vehicle fires (even golf carts) due to its ability to smother the fire and any fuel spilled.
Thanks
We were there too. There was nothing left but the frame. 😔
Slow response by the Fire Dept. How far away is the firehouse?
They are probably pretty well versed in golf cart fires down there. Considering how many people have them.
A classmate passed away in a golf cart accident there last year
Praying the owners are safe
Gee, I would have thought a UPS truck would have a fire extinguisher but they just drove on by!
I wish your mother inlaw a speedy recovery. You say the golf carts are mostly plastic. I thought the bodies are fiberglass? No?

Thats ladder 45 and attack 45, typically our brush trucks.

Question.....was it repairable?
It'll buff out, at most you'll need some duck tape

It's also good to get insurance in case your golf cart is stolen.
Let it burn to the ground out on the cours and lave a big black spot on the green🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
was it a gas or elec cart anyone know the cause
Lithium batteries?
I hope the occupants of this golf cart have Life Insurance? Not Golf Cart insurance.
Sure it's not one of those lithium batteries catching fire?
Not lithium. Those lithium batteries are not extinguished that easily. They burn for hours and hours.
Comment......It was an electric cart..........
Could have been worse, it could have been a lithium battery fire with multiple explosions .
Fire department?.

@@roberttracey3183 I would say no saving most golf carts once they start burning I thought they had fire extinguishers, but glad no one was hurt!
