All my Alamanda plants have green bark, not brown. I wonder how long I must wait before I am able to cut some for propagating?

I was told to make the cut where the green meets the brown bark. This makes sense because that's the way it's done in most propergating.

after growing well you can place it in direct sunlight For 5 to 6 hours
