Please share the video before it gets deleted! I don´t know the reason why the incoming call caused the steel wool to ignite. If you have deeper knowledge in physics, maybe you can write an explanaition in the comments. I also don´t know if an iPhone is able to cause injury because of electromagnetic radiation.
Can a smartphone cause injury to a human?
    #shorts
We used an iPhone 6 for this experiment. The "power save" option was set off. We used steel wool grade 12. The wood table plate has a thickness of about 2 inch. There was no coil under / within the table.

So I finally got around to testing this out with a Samsung Galaxy S10 and a Sony XZs, both set to operate on the 4G frequency band. I first confirmed that there was a complete electrical loop around the wool and obtained 1.4 ohms with a multimeter. I placed each phone into the ring of fine-grade steel wool and called it. There was no spontaneous combustion of the steel wool for either device. I proceeded to observe if there was any frequency induced in the steel wool with the multimeter, but made a null observation. This result indicates to me that these devices do not output the sufficient microwave power to cause electrical induction, let alone violent oxidation, of the steel wool. However, this should come as no surprise, because this same experiment has now been repeated in various other videos on TH-cam with similarly no effect...

It's not the first cut that is the issue. It's the second one that is actually detectible... at 0:28 the video is crossfaded into another clip (that is actually slightly out of focus) with an AfterEffects "handheld" look applied in post. This is to obscure seeing the transition, and also to hide the actual act of ignition. Steel wool + a 9V battery easily will cause it to burn, while the call would not. So they set this up on a tripod, touched the battery to a few spots, and then crossfaded from not burning to burning. Except they messed up the focus--maybe due to the smoke--and you can see the entire table top simultaneously blur and have a slight brightness change the moment the call/burning appears to happen. You also see the non-burning parts of the wool shift mysteriously and simultaneously, rather than gradually and consequentially as a result of the burning. (near the top right corner of the phone, notably, at the same time marker.)

You don‘t need to have deep physics knowledge, the 1W transmitting power of the iPhone just can‘t set anything on fire. Also, the signal strength gets exponentially lower with the distance to the phone. Anyways, thank‘s for information people, that this is just straight up BS.

Metal has weakly bounded electrons that can be treated as free electrons; on top of that, the steel wool loop is a closed loop which enhances the induction law of Faraday. In the case of steel wool, the steel fibres have a crosssection so tiny they reach a very large electrical resistance. Therefore, EM waves propels free electrons at a very high speed producing a considerable large current in comparison to the current the steel fibers can tolerate before fusing because of the Joule effect. In conclusion, that burning you are seeing is produced merely because of the free electrons property metals have, the induction law and the high resistance of the micro-cables; brain cells don't produce a high amount of free electrons metals do and biological materials and tissues are great dielectrics unlike metals that are conductors. So, your experiment is really cool but that phenomena are not related and won't be the cause of an eventual brain damage. Diego Cano

Plus, it's not like there's anything conductive or fragile in there that creates life from electrical impulses or anything. Yes, they can generate powerful fields of emf radiation... It also depends on frequency and signal strength, whether you are receiving 3, 4 or 5G. 5G will use microwave and millimeter energy, depending on freq... Using a trifield meter to measure this will confirm. But this is a great visual display of what one may otherwise not see... This is also a good example why one should consider carefully where you set your phone…
You can also set steel wool on fire touching it with a 9v battery, or putting it in a microwave. Steel wool and a 9v batteries are used in wilderness survival kits to start fires.

As soon as I could get a new 4G cell phone I did so after my power was cut off for four days during very cold weather. I got it as an emergency phone because of neurological disabilities in which I have seizures. I kept that phone, therefore, right beside my bed plugged in should I ever need it in an emergency if the power was off again. From that time on I began to experience many more seizures but chalked that up to the electric outage. Once the trauma from that was over I spent a lot more time outside as it was good weather by then. I should've been doing better with all the sunshine and fresh air but I wasn't. I began seeing reports not to keep it plugged in near where you sleep. I have been experiencing bad panic attacks for the past year and never associated it with this phone, right? I finally moved the phone to the kitchen, the furthest point from where I spend most of my time and sleep. Almost instantly the panic attacks all ceased and those that have occurred have been mild compared to the former ones. My body ordinarily has an excess of electricity within my brain due to epilepsy. My hearing has been tested to be better than that of a dog ranging both higher than normal human to much lower than human also. I can't account for the miraculous recovery of my body and mind since moving that phone but when the electric went out for 20 minutes on Sunday early am I brought the phone back in and left it there all day. I began having full on panic attacks again. While reading about electro-magnetic pulse radiation attacks (don't ask me why I was reading about it) I discovered the same set of symptoms of panic attacks were also the same for the effects of being hit with emp pulses. I've heard fringe type people talking about being under attack by the gov't with brain to skull emp attacks but didn't pay those reports much heed. Now, I do! So, all of you reading this....pay attention. You may be able to experiment with moving your phone as far as possible from you while you're sleeping or where you sit to see if your health improves. I hope for all our sakes that this is not true but the proof for me is in the pudding so to speak. I have all the proof I need to prove to myself that my cell phone has been impacting my health in very bad ways for most of this past year. I won't be carrying it with me unless I have need of it for emergency purposes anymore. There are other ways to get help besides that phone where I live and spend most of my life.

Thanks, look forward to your reply. Make sure the steel wool is a closed loop.

@@MarcassCarcass considering how intertwined the wool is, I don't think the closed loop matters.

@@B3NJeM4N As an x-ray tech in training for MRIs, we were taught to make sure there were not any loops in the cables within the scan room, so I think there could have been something to that, and I'm just trying to make sure people try to replicate the video accurately.

Put it on x0.25 and 720p or higher and focus on the fire you'll notice its an effect.

I bet my balls that there is just an induction cooking plate under the "table", the table is probably just a thin plywood board.

i bet my (probably much bigger) balls that your balls are damaged by electromagnetic radiation, and also your brain. how do you explain that it starts burning at top?

Could be. But given there was an edit and a dissolve at :29 in they could just have easily lit it manually.

      Ron,
I watched at 1/4th playback speed, and saw no "edit and dissolve."

@@WeebRemover4500 1) Maybe it started at the bottom, but you couldn´t see it, because steel wool is not transparent
      2) Greater surface area exposed to oxygen at the top -> better reaction
...unless you have a better explanation

@@JamesSnapp I uploaded a frame of the video showing the begining parts of the disolve where you can see through the embers fading in from one video source to another. Embers ignite .. they don't fade into existence.
