    Actually the Carlinkit 4.0 supports both CarPlay and AndroidAuto.

      exactly, i have the 4.0 as well. Been in my last 3 cars and i only have a Android phone. Work perfectly every time, except these days, takes a bit longer to boot up. Looking at the 5.0 unit

    Nice basic comparison. I don't have these two units but have tried several others. Each works basically the same. They're fine for basic functions such as music and even navigation. The problems start when i try to make phone calls or join meetings while navigating. I have yet to find a Carplay adapter that can handle this.

    There is a button on the autocast which you can press to reboot it without unplugging it and plugging it back in. This will also allow you to choose a second phone from the list at boot up.

    I have Amazon carplay adapter from COVS DIRECT ($60). Connects similarly to the two brands mentioned here. Sound quality is same as wired. Only issue I found with “LAG” is watching TH-cam. The audio is behind. Voice doesn’t match the person’s lips. This is the lag I’m talking about. It’s annoying but not a dealbreaker. How are these brands with that? And would the GPS lag as well. These are the two issues I’m hoping to see resolved with these adapters with either a better brand or firmware updates in the future.

    have you looked at the motorola equivalent?

    • @CarFanatic
      @CarFanatic  ปีที่แล้ว

      I looked into it but it doesn't work for my situation because i need both wireless Apple Carplay and AA. From reviews I've seen, the Motorola can be a little laggy and it's actually not a Motorola product. Motorola just licensed their name to the actual manufacturer.

    I bought this product, navigation and music control delay is terrible. And I wonder why people don’t review this device while they’re driving to showcase navigation and other controls’ responsiveness, which is not acceptable for me. I will go back to use my cable and return this to seller.

    im using carlinkit 5.0 with audi s3 2018 and the response time is terrible. when I press a button (like pause or forward) within an audio app on carplay it takes about 2 seconds. this is not the case when using a cable, so clearly a device problem. even though they say the response time is 300ms its not true. idk if that is the same with the ottocast or if it really depends on the connected car.
