This house and entire property went on the market this morning! The future is unknown at this point, but thankfully I was here before anything took place. Fingers crossed that there's minimal change so others have the opportunity to visit here in the future.
I love Christmas Story !! My sister and I had it playing the entire 24hrs in both our houses, then call each other to laugh!! I love the restaurant scene…have you noticed that after he chops the neck off he puts it in his pocket!! 😂😂. Enjoyed all the behind the scenes info….really fun time!!! Thanks for dragging us along!! We tried not to touch everything!! 😂😂 💖💙💖💙💖💙
Jay, Our Victorian farmhouse had an overhead toilet bowl like that one which I remember as a probably 3 or 4 year old. Dad quickly replaced it with "modern" plumbing:) That redo of the house and that museum must be fairly recent because I remember that the house was privately owned and lived in. It's so good that someone was willing to renovate it, the movie is so classic now, like the original "MIracle on 34th Street"....ahhhhhhh Nostalgia😂😂😂😂 CHeers, Rik
Thanks for the awesome tour JP!! Love the movie!! I was shocked when I heard this morning about the property going up for sale 😮 I really hope someone here locally will step up and buy the property and keep it as is 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
A lot of interesting information in your video. I saw the movie once years ago. The scene with the kid getting his tongue stuck to the flagpole is the one that stuck in my mind. Probably because my sister got her tongue stuck to the freezer in the grocery store. Interesting how they did that. I guess I have to find this movie and watch it again after this. Glad you were able to mark it off your bucket list.
Loved the movie seen it so many times with different sets of grand kids over the years plus I watch it now at the holidays all by myself for great memories.. Saw the original when it first came out. Seems like the tour guide would have been older like someone who saw the original movie and loved it long time. Thanks for taking us along with you. LOL..Also we drink Ovaltine every day in unsweetened Almond Milk. It has lots of vitamins and minerals in it. Love your videos and the variety of things you take us to see. God Bless.
That's the great thing about the movie... it makes people both young and old fans of it and it's great to see a younger generation carrying on the legacy.
I am finally watching this video because I am embarrassed to to say I have never seen the movie until yesterday. It was funny and sweet and I can now see how it is so important to you. My new holiday tradition!
Loved this! Brings back so many wonderful memories. Mom used to have this movie on every year when my kids were little and we visited her for Christmas. The station that played it had it on 24-hour repeat for Christmas and I loved watching it every time. Thanks so much for bringing us along! Great job, as always. What a special treat! :) And I really hope the new owners continue to keep it open for tours so many more people can enjoy this iconic experience.
That was a great video so glad you shared it. I live in a suburb of Cleveland and have never been to the Christmas House. It is on my bucket list to be seen in the future. The Christmas House and everything connected to it is for sale. I sure hope the new owners will keep it like it is so that people can visit is it. I hope your car is being fixed and that you are doing okay. Thank you again. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I want the "leg lamp" as I think it's a toot. My grandmother had a mixer in her kitchen, just like the one on the sink. I have my mother's old mixer, a old stand up one. It used to have two white glass mixing bowls, I accidently broke one. I have the one semi clear white one and the clear glass one. It brings back fond memories, a Hamilton Beech mixer.
The new one A Christmas Story Christmas is out now! But I actually like Elf and A Year Without a Santa Claus with Mickey Rooney best (still early to watch all that so I wait for December)
Hi JP! You finally convinced me that I need to buy the DVD of this movie to find out why you and many people like this movie. I got it last night and I played about 2/3rds of it during my busy schedule. I finally found out what the leg lamp has to do with the movie. One would think that after the wife broke the lamp that she would dress up in heels and hose for her husband (but no! Gotta keep this movie family friendly. Most marriages don't work that way anyway. Lol 😀) I'm coming out from under my rock slowly.
Cool video! This is my favorite Christmas film. I first heard the story on Jean Shepherd's radio program when I was in junior high school. I was psyched when this film came out!👍
It is French for "It is more pleasant to give than to receive." both Google translate & Bing translate agree. It was "Il est plus agréable de donner que de recevoir." if you don't want to type it yourself & check on your own.
Can't believe the house is For Sale Ironically around 1990 after Christmas break and watching the original A Christmas Story movie, I actually stuck my tongue to a bolt on the playground at my school's, similar to how Schwartz stuck his tongue to the flagpole, it was about -10c a foot or so of snow on the ground, I was 6. A lot of the historians that follow A Christmas Story by heart, fail to mention how it was actually filmed mostly in Toronto Ontario, just mainly the house scenes were filmed in Cleveland Ohio.
I'm glad you got to see it. I'd love to visit but I'm not very fond of Cleveland, Ohio. We have a full sized leg lamp in our living room. We keep our Christmas tree in the wooden crate.
Hi Jay, here in England in West Yorkshire, we have a supermarket called Asda which was once owned by Walmart. It's sponsored by Elf the movie and its Christmas advert is of Elf as if he's buying things and roaming around Asda. They too sell Buddy the Elf items from duvet bedding to chocolates and mugs etc etc. One of my favorite movies at Christmas is Funny Farm and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. You have to have Chevy Chase at Christmas if you want a laugh or too or three etc. I like the knock of Zoltar machine lol. Tomorow I'm going to watch this movie with my sister as we are bingeing out on Christmas movies. I can't wait to watch it now. Thank you so much Jay I really loved the video and seeing inside the house and the merchandise.
Thank you and Happy holiday. I learn about the vent and phone sound also 4 trivia from the movie. I had a great time. I love your photo's, My fav. characters-Randy and Ralphie. The story. Have you seen the new THE CHRISTMAS STORY CHRISTMAS made in 2022 yet?
I hope it doesn’t go the way of The Goonies house! New owners wouldn’t even let you PARK near the house, they finally gave up after years of trying to keep people away.

I'll have to pay closer attention to the neck part. Thanks for watching my look at this wonderful place.
So awesome to see the actual house and the museum. I watched this movie last night on tbs and I also own the dvd. Always a Christmas favorite.

This was better than the sequel.
I think you should buy the place! Just imagine how you could answer the front door in your own custom made pink Christmas bunny outfit 🤣

My favorite Christmas movie!!! I have the small leg lamp on my desk and other items. It's on my bucket list to go see this house

That would be unfortunate
Adorn?? Step back a little Cronkite.
It would be funny if you were allowed to dress up in the bunny suit and walk down the stairs
You can
man the chinese resturant scene is pretty racist
Huh must be nice to be able to go across country doing nothing but taping yourself being a damn fool (people in the pink outfits).
