Finally get to see the Nickelodeon Robot Wars and it just looks like a heavily neuteured version of the Minor Meltdown. Also, Sir K? Didn't anyone who worked for Nickelodeon ever walk into a Toys R Us in the UK and see the Robot Wars toys?
The four classic Nickelodeon Game Shows air sporadically on TeenNick’s block NickRewind are Double Dare (1986-93), Nickelodeon Guts (1992-95), Legends of the Hidden Temple (1993-95) and Figure It Out (1997-99).
@@Headbanger142 Yeah, he still has it and I've seen it as well the Robot Wars logo is still on there but it has slid down a bit.. We met through a mutual friend.
@@BellyLover06 I remember seeing an episode of RWEW on TNN when I was younger. I didn't mention it earlier because TNN was relatively unknown among kids at the time.
I felt so bad for Ninjitsu because it could've won the US Championship had it not broken down and it would've done a good number on Probophobia in my book. Also, it's baffling to me that Phantasm entered the event as a super heavyweight at 343 pounds, 3 pounds heavier than the super heavyweight weight limit at BattleBots 5.0!
I really wish they would've made this into a actually separate tournament specifically for kids only (like a Junior League), also to keep the fire on the flame pit and Sargent Bash (cause like Hank from King of the Hill once said "Sure we cut ourselves and burned ourselves, but that's how we learned things we learned things were sharp and hot")
myself and a few buds are starting up our own robot wars podcast (first few episodes are in the bank getting edited) stuff like this is absolute gold. Thanks a million for uploading it. is there any other robot wars gems your sitting on :P.
I know you people probably know this but according to nerd3 who went to see nickelodeon robot wars live, Dave Aizer kept screwing up his lines to the point where the audience started chanting Foley, Foley, Foley
According to the Extreme Warriors guide, it had THREE weapons: Two hammers and a flipping arm. Seems like they were trying to go the Diesector route and got carried away.
I don't think the US Championship should've been up for grabs in this series. Not only was it a prize only for a robot being driven by a child when it should've been for anyone of any age in the United States, but having it in (let's be honest) the shortest and smallest tournament possible made it look cheap. Why not just call it the Nickelodeon Robot Wars Championship and thereby make it distinguishable?
a bit of a downgrade to the actual robot wars, but hey its part of history and lets be honest. This could have gotten a lot of kids interested in robotics. Still Sir K...and yet Dead Metal was allowed Also Mike Foley was a better host for the US than this loser
"Sir K"
I see you Nickelodeon. I see you.
I’m guessing it’s so the name Sir Killalot doesn’t scare the children.
@@clarkejoseph49 it can't scare them, that's just pushy.
Sir K is a cool nickname too but I like you are used to it being Sir Killalot.
I remember seeing this episode when it first aired back in 2002. It's the reason why I got interested in robot combat.

The look on Dave's face as he realizes the sheer awfulness of the pun he's being fed through his earpiece

It had too much policy.
Wait... this is all there is for the US championship? Even the TNN season 1 championship had more fights to their final.

Nickrewind and teennick should never be on the air but they need to bring back nickelodeon games and sports
Interesting thing is that I'm friends with Ivan of the Tyranabot team. He still has the jaws on Tyranabot.
Was he allowed to keep the trophy?
@@Headbanger142 Yeah, he still has it and I've seen it as well the Robot Wars logo is still on there but it has slid down a bit.. We met through a mutual friend.
Does he have Tyranabot in storage?
I don't believe so. I think it was taken apart long ago and Ivan kept the jaws as a momento.
@@stevendezwaan5707 oof. Well at least he had a memory
I remember when this was on Nickelodeon SLAM.
Just to think, if it wasn't for Nickelodeon, then many of us here in North America probably never would've gotten into robot combat as kids.
@@MegGriffin45 It was also on TNN.

What gave with this Robot Wars going more political than Hank's advice?
That was the first time I was introduced to Robot Wars.

21 years later and this still feels like wasted potential.
How did Phantasm end up with a Middleweight robot's worth of excess weight? Did get the metric-imperial conversions backwards?

I think I kinda agree with Jeana Banks bout Phantasm having no weapons to attack.
