The wing is for downforce to give the car more grip. He could remove the bumper because it doesn't really do anything for the handling like the wing does.

The SI-R bumper supports are actually like that in Japan, because in Japan their safety laws are different than the U.S.
I've seen. But didn't want to spend and waste a JDM support on this beater.
