My uncle was an artist and I remember him telling me stories of him starting out with zero money. I'm german and obviously so is my uncle. He grew up in the 50s right after the end of the war, so he literally had nothing. However, he wanted to paint, so one of his first brushes was a stick with leftovers of an old broom attached to it. Worked out perfectly fine for him. I always try to remember that, when I think you need expensive supplies to create nice things. You really don't, but especially as a beginner they can help tremendously. And they sure last longer than a stick with some bristles taped to it... So everyone in the comments who's poor: It's gonna be fine, don't let that hold you back ;D
