I understand the concept of the work involved in healing. Is medication also necessary? My doctor told me today that without helping my body fix the neurotransmitters, I won’t heal. She said I have vitamin deficiencies and something with my liver detox. She’s tested my neurotransmitters as well and they were very low. I was thinking by doing the work my neurotransmitters would correct themselves once I stopped bashing my nervous system with my faulty beliefs and put in the rest of the recovery work. Is this correct?
Hi i wanted to ask u that my ocd snuck its way back in and its coming on off but i have control on it now thankfully and i found a new way which combines erp and telling the brain to shut up, should i keep doing it moving forward?
Hey Livingroom - We would suggest no, we can't just tell the brain to shut up. It feels too real and that doesn't move with unconditional acceptance. Exposures yes, the shut up part definitely not.
This is my biggest hurdle. We are all experts in OCD yet still suffer. I plan on starting the OCD recovery program soon though!
Yes 🙌🏻
