I remember meeting Danny back in around ‘94. I was staying with my mate in Cheltenham and we had dropped some acid. We were literally rolling around on the floor laughing hysterically at the most random shit and Danny walks in having just returned from a America on some Powell tour or something. Pro skater, a few years older than us twerps who could not stop giggling and being no doubt incredibly annoying but he was just a proper top geezah. Had he had the desire of the likes of Rowley to go Stateside and stay there killing it he could easily have reached the very top, but Danny always preferred to stay closer to home and I’m not sure he ever really felt comfortable across the pond.
This Wainwright footage is amazing!! He's always been so well rounded. I remember being right there at Asr Tradeshow when he won the high ollie contest. Even tho i was a fan way prior to that, instantly became more of one from that day on. Cheers to another 20yrs of him steadily killing it!
Whoa! Now, this was a treat... 🙏 Always a pleasure to watch Danny sk8. Style, pop, plenty of speed, and innovation. A great trip down the memory lane... 😏 That Tre Flip @ 3:36 mins. 😯 Back in the day, when first saw that, I thought that this guy finds sum ole other lines. And truly takes advantage of 'em...
@@liamcanavan5970 actually Wainwright came from Stroud, a small town about an hour away with a suuuper small skate scene. It's inspiring to know someone like this came from where I grew up
Raggy Juice... My first ever skate video. Rod Clarke, Alex Moul, Ali Cairns, Wainwright, Hacker, Habgood's leg break, Penny cruising through a multi storey....Still got the VHS. Gold.
Reading this comment put me straight back to 1996! The UK back then was so good! We used to watch those vids every day! Mark Channer was a favourite in playing fields. UK skating had a such a massive identity back then, the rough spots, the grey weather and the style of skating just made it the best.
That's shows me that nowadays sk8ters are floffy xD, he broke it and even needed to look or dress pretty 👌... And now am asking why you guys make famous some many sk8ters and this kind of treasure keep it underground 🤣
Wainwright was so sick!

And now he is a coach in the Olympics
I’d only ever seen the clip of him winning that high Ollie contest. Never knew he was so well rounded.
411VM #39
Danny's def well rounded, and got style for days. Check out that 411, vol. 39 part. If you have the chance to it...
me too!
For real though wow
I remember that high ollie contest.
That pop he had at that time was no joke.
those long grinds on the raw surface. so dope.
Danny got one of the best 5-0's... 🤔

Wow bring back memories haven’t herd that name in many moons! Thank you for posting
This guy reminds me how pop is important in skateboarding. He was damn good.
yesss, brings back a lot of memories in mind, time to turn on the VHS recorder back againwith the 411#39 😍
I first saw him on 411 #31
Still one of the bests 360flips...

Insanely good, loved his kickflips. The first skater that comes to mind when I think of Bristol.
Nostalgic!
5050 Skateshop Bristol..Danny W da big popper
2:45 bad ass kickflip
Haven't heard Massive Attack in a long time. Sick track.
Also, the skating was dope.
One of the best. Crusted spots with hammers.
A big part of my skateboard videos history 🔨🔨🔨🔨👌👌🇧🇷
i dont know why people go on about penny and rowley when wainwright was quite clearly the man
all 3 are amazing in their own right. Wainwright has crazy pop and nice ledge tricks but he doesn't have Penny's steez or Rowley's handrail game.
Danny has the Bristol steeze
@@Annnto Yeah... Both of 'em truly have styles of their own.
I think penny and wainwright come from bristol! Produces some of the best UK skaters

I really Did not want that to end .
european ollie king , before rowley and penny, a man a true legend , best pop ever
Check out his part on Playing Fields and also the one from Raggy Juice, both are really good!
