These vehicles are built on Suzuki’s HEARTECT Platform. There are no specific New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) tests for them or the Suzuki Fronx yet. But, the cash test results for the Suzuki Baleno, which is also built on this platform, provides us with a guide of their likely crash protection ratings.

Considering this is the old Baleno platform one cannot equate the same to the new platform which has been beefed up considerably. Best guess would be a 3 star rating which is about right as the stars lost would most likely be for electronic warnings and not crash test worthiness.

I would hope for at least 4 stars in emerging market NCAPs. I love these little cars and they are selling like hot cakes. However, in the absence of a regional NCAP assessment, the prudent approach would be to wait for those crash test results, unless your current vehicle is even more dangerous. The recent Suzuki Swift debacle where it got 3 stars in Europe and 1 in Australia, just shows how manufactures can manipulate the safety components, despite vehicles sharing the same platform. As a potential buyer, I want to know the level of risk the vehicle is exposing me and my family to so I can factor that into my decision, with the increased risk posed to the occupants of small cars in crashes with larger vehicles. There's little incentive for Suzuki to have these vehicle crash test rated if consumers care more about Apple Carplay and Android Auto than their own safety.

@@CrashTestDummy-ov8vh True about assessing your own safety. People have the right to choose if its made of carboard or built safe like a Subaru or Volvo. I bet any new car is leaps and bounds safer than the safest cars 20+ years ago which used to be considered ''safe''. The reality is no car is safe, and these tests do not in any way replicate real life accidents. In ideal situations similar to these simulated crashes they help. Get in the wrong situation and they are meaningless. They also encourage a false sense of safety, leading to complacency. No car is any safer crashing into a semi truck today than 50 years ago. Manufacturers look at the regulations they need to meet, in the manner they need to meet and then they design it around that. Not for actual crash worthy strength. Also a 3 star safty rating can be as crash worthy as a 5 star, but because it does not have certain driver assist functions will loose stars. Dont put too much faith in these ratings. 5 star this year is equivalent to 3 stars in 4 or 5 years.
