I like listening to Chael talk in circles for around 12 min every video. I’m a simple man. I cook a meal, eat while listening to chael say the same thing over and over, so by the time my meal is done all the information I absorbed was said in the first two minutes. I love Chael.
It's funny - to an MMA outsider, this could come across as backhanded, but the real ones here know every word is 100% sincere.

As a guy that's been on the sauce for over 20 years on and off, I think when he came off the juice and shrank , he got on drugs. I went through it. That Conor interview with Jake Gylenhal still haunts me. That was beyond tweaked Conor. That looked like scared shitless Conor. I dont think we will ever know what it was, but Conor usually flourishes in those situations.
The sport has left Connor. Why is anyone entertaining the possibility of fighting him? After the floyd fight and the 100 million, the desire to fight left him. Like Hagler once said "its hard to get up at 4am to run when youre sleeping on silk sheets."

I said the same thing make sense
Taking the boxing match was the best and the worst thing he ever did in his life. The best because he walked away with FU money and a new level of fame that UFC didn't afford him, but the worst because with FU money he said FU to actually training like he did when he was coming up, and that new level of fame also comes with new levels of obligations that he didn't have while training before the Floyd fight. Everyone likes to quote Marvin Hagger for his brilliant line about how hard it is to find the same motivation you had before, when all of a sudden you're waking up with silk sheets on the bed. Also, he's always been an alcoholic, he just doesn't care to hide it anymore.
Here's the thing: it's hard to "want" to fight when you've got millions of dollars in your bank account. The story he's telling us is that money = complacency, which tends to be a recurring theme in combat sports.
It makes sense, especially from the perspective of an MMA fighter where you put in far more work than you are financially compensated for

I like the idea that Conor's pinky toe is VITAL to his game plan to beat Chandler.
Jon jones said something very intresting in the Joe rogan experience that he used to make sure to party a week before a fight he knew was going to be hus hardest opponent and make sure a lot of people saw him just in case if he loses the fight he had a solid excuse ready that the fans woukd believe, for the fans but also for himself.
So that people would say he didn't take the fight seriously , even tho he did train seriously and he knew it was hus hardest opponent
And I thought that was the most interesting thing Jon jones ever said because he let use know a piece of his phycology that most didn't know.
And jones isn't the only fighter that has done that, creating a falls facad of not taking the fight seriously before a fight they knew is the toughest so that incase they lose they have an excuse.
Conor knew khabib was going to be his hardest fight that's why he pretended like he was drunk.
Never forget even when conor was supper active he got whooped by diaz, and if you lose against diaz you got zero chance against khabib.
Jon Jones is what happens when you take extreme extreme talent and combine it with working extremely hard. There probably isn’t anyone else on earth that could do what jones does and then walk out and win a world title regardless the weight class.

Honestly, I feel for Conor. I used to be a big runner, trained my ass off, sacrificed a lot. I wasn't anywhere close to a pro level, but I worked really hard at it. I constantly felt ground down all the way up to the taper. But when I hurt my back, and I had to be out for 5 years, figuring out that issue, when I came back I realized all my motivation was gone. And I knew that in order to even hope to come close to that again, I would have to work extremely hard. And I had lost almost all desire to go through that again.
But Conor is rich. He just needs to make up his damn mind about what he is doing.

McGregor might as well retire, God knows he's got more money than he knows what to do with, if I was him I'd enjoy my life. He has nothing to worry about, his grandchildren's grandchildren have nothing to worry about when it comes to money. The man has generational wealth, nobody in MMA history has made half the money that he has made. Fuck it retire and count your money. That's what I would do I'd be enjoying life I want to give a shit with anybody said about me.
Thats not a condition you can fight in. Conor is SO successful and its such a gigantic superstar businessman. Its a dreamlife. That ISNT the condition you can go out and fight in. The guys still in the sport full time are there because they dont have anything else. Their life is poured into being the best and fighting and training. That was Conor in a past life, but its not him now. Chandler WANTS him, he spent the past 2 years training for him. Conor probably doesnt give him much thought personally, not like he did Khabib.
Point is Conor outgrew the sport. Hes no longer what he needs to be in order to go perform out there.

The Conner era is well and truly over. Chael you havnt mentioned the biggest change in Conner and that is nobody cares anymore. If he fights or not nobody cares. It's in the past. His time has gone. Even if by some miracle he does fight not only does nobody care but the result Is a foregone conclusion. Nobody thinks he will win, Chandler will kill him. There is no interest at all from any angle. We just want him to go, dissappear. The only wish we all have is that Chandler gets a huge payday.

I dunno, the Khabib vs Tony fight was promoted for quite a while. There has never been a more cursed fight, but at least both fighters seemed like they wanted it. I don't think Conor wants to fight Chandler, but he has too much pride to admit he's scared or retire. I also don't want to see happen to Conor or Chandler what has happened with Tony/Khabib. Khabib is retired but has left many questions on how much more he could have proved since he retired relatively young in the sport. Tony, on the other hand, is half-retired. I didn't even know such a thing was possible, but Tony is the kind of guy.......

I think it’s his contract. Conor wants to buy out his contract and pursue his goal in BKFC. Dana is refusing his buyout. Conor is upset. Dana should release Conor as a favor and allow him to pursue his goal of becoming BKFC champion. Conor is upset with Mike Perry for taking that Jake fight because it lowered his BKFC stock and allure. Conor is doing everything possible for Dana to release him but Dana is still refusing. Dana at least accept a buyout from Conor,please.
