I think they actually filmed the scene during the actual festival they are talking about in the series. The lake in that province is believed to be the home of the Naga in Thai mythology which is why you saw the Naga's in the lake firing off the fireballs alongside the fireworks which is why Yai was surprised to see additional fireworks where it should be coming from.

The festiwal and the places they visited are all real. They moved the filming crew to the North during the festival time to showcase the atmosphere of the festival and all the landmarks. So yeah you can actually visit all those places and all the crowds in the shots were actual visitors who came to witness the fireworks and Naga fireballs.
I think the word you were thinking of was Confidant (confident in french, pronounced the same way in English as in French) or to confide in (confier), meaning a person one can trust to talk to. It is confusing for French speakers though as we also use the word confident/confidence in English (pronounced like you did here) but meaning confiant, plein de assurance. However while confidence is a word confidance isn't so instead we would say something like 'It's so nice they can confide in each other.' We have so many French loan words but over the 1000 years since we borrowed them the meanings, spellings and/or pronunciation have changed. 😄 There were some mistakes in the subtitles in the episode which added some confusion, like 'the one I love' he means romantically, like a lover and I'm pretty sure they meant grandson, not nephew, the word for them in Thai is the same.
In English 1:9:40 Confidant is referred to a close friend Instead of saying the Confidance between them which is not a word,say the friendship between them.Your English is very good though.

It is during festival in Thailand that time they were filming it. It was real footage of it and they got permission to shooting there

Phaya is not only Phaya's name but also something of a title used with both Naga and Garuda so you can say Phaya Naga and Phaya Garuda.
