What’s wrong with Canadas economy? It’s been outperforming all the g seven for many of the most recent quarters? As a working class Canadian my standard of Living has increased under Trudeau. I didn’t vote for him or his party but to say he’s failing Canada economically isn’t true, if you you’re gonna slander the guy go after something real.
Biden created a 3 trilliion dollar overdraft in his 1st year that was completely unnecessary. That exess liquidity was clearly inflationary - and now the American people are paying for it through skyrocketing prices. This year, Biden signed 2 more bailouts that are in direct opposition to Fed policy - throwing gasoline on an already raging inflationary fire. But it's clearly self-serving - just so he and Harris can prop up the economy enough to get them through the mid-terms.
Are you for real dude? Yes, Trudeau has failed as our PM in some regards, but the economy is not one of them.
Sure not everybody is rich, and depending on your city/region, you may have a hard time finding gainful employment in your profession. But that's life, especially in a country as geographically large as Canada. In this country, if you want to be successful, you have to move to where the money is, but there is money. If you have a problem with his economics, you should direct your frustration at how difficult it is to afford and attain the education/training needed to change industries and jobs.
Trudeau's failures as a PM revolve around his inability to promote what culture Canada has. His lack of backbone is why people dislike him and see him as weak. He and his government have repeatedly made decisions that are negative for their people, in order to appear "Cancel-Culture Friendly"

Ah, but that is the rub. if you are running against something, that does not automatically mean you are for something. It is the danger of running a negativity campaign; when the other guy is out, only you are to blame for what happens next. In this case, buyer's remorse means that if Trump runs again, he is practically a shoo-in against Biden because it will be a referendum on Biden and the Democrats, one that Trump can easily contrast with his own term.

Also, Biden had every opportunity to either be better at his job, or at least better differentiate himself, but he's def earned his current ratings. The problem isn't the Cold War mentality. The problem is that the politicians can't think outside of the box. John F. Kennedy was a Cold War president who COULD be creative and imaginative. Most of those in DC lack that critical skill.

Presidents in the US are increasingly unpopular due almost entirely to the polarization of US politics. Approval ratings of 60%+ were common before because you could get 90% approval of your party voters and then 30%-40% support of the opposition party voters. They’re days the ceiling of what support you get from the opposition is shrinking and shrinking. Obama saw his support from republicans shrinking over time from about 20% down to 10% at the end. Trump was around 15% support at peak with opposition party voters and went down to 5%.. Biden is now seeing around 10% support.
In addition, the Democratic Party has a split left vs moderate which is also causing drop in approval from the same party voters.

There are several problems with the current and former administrations. But many of US problems are systemic have not been addressed in decades.
1: Corporations pay less in taxes now then they did 60 years ago. Thanks to lobbying they have managed to switch the taxburden over to middle and lower class. Instead of actualy fixing the US tax system both democrats, and specially republicans have managed to create so many loopeholes and exceptions that most massive companies manage to reduce, pay next to nothing or even get taxes back from the federal government. It also does not help that there are 50 states with local rules and zero cohesion. Unless someone actually fixes the broken tax system then nothing will ever happen. Its no popular but it needs to happen.
2: Absolutely idiotic priorities. The DoD gets 770-800 billion USD dollar per year and they dont need it. This money neither audited or correctly followed up. US gov spending on basic research has hit rock bottom and is at its lowest level in decades. Same also go for the US educational system where money is wasted non working program where students are failing. Lets not even talk about the infrastructure that is in horrible condition. Problem here being that politicians are happy to spend money on new fancy projects but wont actually allocate money for maintenance.
Putting money into creating cheaper childcare, better healthcare, and reducing dependence on fossil fuels is good as long as its targeted correctly.
3. Massive corruption. If special interest can buy your politician then nothing good will ever happen. No sh*t nothing will happen on the enviromental front if the Koch brothers and Exxon can buy a politician to vote against any protection. Unless federal and local prosecutors, plus police and agents, start to investigate and take down these crooks no change will be possible. In regard to the economy there should be a mention that the Fed and the presidency, and a bit of congress, all operate independently and share some fault for how well the economy is doing. That being said the president is the face of the nation, and the gaffes don’t help sell the idea of a strong leader to the general public, so it’s understandable his approval rating wouldn’t be stellar. This video said a lot of things that are kind of true but have some counterpoints which I’m sure I won’t do it justice. In regard to infrastructure spending, I think if Biden could have his way his recent bill would be predominately heavy on hard infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and especially high speed rail, as well as investments for green energy. This kind of bill would be a great economic investment. But the Democratic Party is a collection of different ideologies and to get support for the bill, some of the more progressive policies get tacked in because they would otherwise struggle to pass in a stand alone bill. Also, to garner republican support the bill is shrunk to keep spending at a minimum. What you get is not would Biden would call Biden economics, you get what the congress put together to appease a majority of politicians looking for something to point to win re-election. Furthermore this video seems to laugh at pro-green policies such as stopping oil companies from drilling or exploring in federal wildlife reservations or shutting the keystone pipeline project. I should mention I was invested in a small way in the keystone pipeline project so when it went under during the Native American protests in mid 2020, I was a bit sour about it but I was happy for the tribes that were able to protect their sovereignty and keep their water from the risk of possible contamination. I’m a free market capitalist second but an environmentalist first. And it’s okay if people disagree with that, but I see strong government intervention in the environment as an investment for the future. Just look at the water crisis in the US Midwest. So to sum up, yea he’s not the greatest president but on the ground people are doing relatively okay. Inflation will come down eventually, a recession might hit but that too will pass in a few years. I’m a bullish on the market in the long run and I think investing for the future IS the best way to go when times are tough. But again, just someone’s opinion.

I've got to disagree on both anectdotal and statistical basis. Personally I've been unemployed for 6 months, I've only had 2 interviews out of nearly a hundred applications and 1 job offer was rescinded. Yes a job Ive wanted for 5 years was offered and rescinded after the ass backwards HR department realized they already hired someone. I keep seeing newd articles about the amazing 530,000 new jobs added in July. It took several google searches to find out that new unemployment claims were 230,000 JUST LAST WEEK. This is one reason why Trump has garnered some respect since he left office and why people are so upset with the Biden administration, which appears to be using certain global events as an excuse for drastically increasing the price of government-invested products like gasoline, food, and infrastructure. It also means that the Democrat-championed "fight for 15" is irrelevant, as many businesses were forced to increase wages just to be able to operate. Effectively, it's a way of forcing things certain members of our government want to see without actually having to be responsible for the outcome.
3. Who they voted for during the last election. Remember, Biden wasn't popular in 2019. When the primaries started, Pete and Bernie were the popular picks. It's only because the superdelegates and media pushed so hard for Biden that he became the forerunner. Many people, who either wanted an extremist like one of them or a political outsider with a strong plan like Klobuchar or Gabbard, are still not happy that the man who ended up getting elected, after all of the culture wars, the violence, the libel, and the wasted money, was the presidential equivalent of mayo and margarine on Wonder Bread and left in the sun for too long. Voicing concerns over Biden, who is running again (and will likely be re-nominated) in 2024 is all they've got and in the end, the superdelegates will just end up re-choosing him.
There is a fundamental flaw that people have when they think taxing the rich and raising tax on business is somehow the solution to all things. They will only pass the costs onto the consumer. This is a fact. Just look at the raising gas prices. The cost of transportation has made everything cost more; groceries especially. Business will always pass their increased costs onto the consumer so they never lose. Even the people who drive electric cars are paying for the increase in transportation and they thought removing all tax incentives and subsidies on oil would not impact them. Imagine if we all drove electric cars then. No oil tycoon woes right? Nope. A massive increase in energy costs and the scarcity of raw materials for batteries would drive costs through the roof there as well. We can't escape it.

*Oil prices - full stop and full go in production wrecked the prices.
*Food prices - because of high oil prices (fertiliser and transport of animal feed) and droughts.

In fact, inflation is hardly an American problem. It has been global, so clearly Bidenomics can't be responsible for all of it. America has still suffered worse than most, so it is fair ask what Biden has done to make things worse. Or at the very least, what America has done to make it more heavily impacted by inflation than most other nations, some of which likely stems from structural issues resulting from decisions made decades ago. Being a consumer economy suffering supply shortages, for example, would almost certainly put the USA in the more at-risk category during global inflation.
You mentioned the 40-year high in inflation, but failed to mention the 50-year low in unemployment. You mentioned that the rise in corporate tax rates would put American corporations in the highest taxes globally, but failed to note that nominal tax rates are not what corporations pay in the USA. Most pay far less, and every year we hear about multi-billion dollar corporations paying nothing at all in taxes. What isn't brought out on this video, is that inflation is a global problem. The US rate of inflation is in the middle of all of the countries. Although Biden is a powerful dude, the global inflation problem isn't because of him. Because the US companies prefer a positive return for their stockholders, even in the very shortterm, millions of jobs have been shipped overseas. To China unfortunately. Because of COVID, China shut down not only factories, etc. but entire cities. This stopped production of nearly EVERYTHING. When COVID eased, there was a tremendous backlog of production and shipping. There was a cut in production for items and prices rose. This is what we all have to endure with unfettered capitalism. Gun issues are an issue as well. It's a more complicated issue then Democrats like to think. Banning things is always a problem and since there are so many guns in the country plans that don't reduce the numbers by a large persentage tend to have backlash and no benefits. State level restrictions are especially problematic since they also reduce any benifitial deterance from armed civilians leaving only criminals armed. My personal observation is that there is probably a larger deterance factor than most would think. I have noticed far more agressive action in states that don't allow carry.
It's not something that I can say is right or wrong but laws have to be effective to create political good will. Given how little good the policies actually do the Democrats might be better off opening up to the group. The Hill article cited dealing with the child tax credit showed it had 70 percent popularity and would only have added 30 percent of inflation if all factors were mutually exclusive. I think one of the major problems in our so-called free and developed world is the unhealthy amount of negative Media reporting. Only thing that seems to sell is bad news so that's what is reported most. This seems to be turning us all into a lot of 1/2 empty glass people that are dissatisfied with everything, and everyone. It's not that there is a lack of good new out there, it's just not reported. We need much more balanced media reporting, less doom and gloom, less petty issues, and a more optimistic view on solutions to current problems.
When food and gas prices go up 50% and double, that's not the media's doom and gloom.

@@ricardoospina5970 It’s a problem if the spin the media puts into it is politically motivated. All many of them do is point fingers at whoever they think can sell papers and avoid real issues that require real thought out solutions.
Humans are designed to care more about bad news than good news, it's this skewer towards bad news that allow our ancestors to survive to this day. The caveman that didn't care about warnings of danger died the next time he went hunting/gathering.
Thus naturally the media reports bad news to gain viewership, the main issue is that they are not reporting neutrally, but with deep a bias and not reporting all the facts for the regular Joe to make his own judgement. Of course bringing back professionalism to increase reporting quality and a better education so every viewer can make rational decisions is probably more unlikely ...

The presidency is a very stressful position. Yet it is also one of the most important positions in our government. People with declining physical and mental health shouldn’t be taking office.

The polarisation of America politics is a key point.
It all started from Afghanistan’s withdrawal. And to be honest, I applaud him for it. If Afghanistan fell in 2 weeks, then it is broken and unfixable, and all previous presidents know the high political cost of the withdrawal, so they just delay it. At least Biden actually did the right thing and withdrew. That said, he is old, and he shouldn’t run in 2024. He is only president to get rid of Trump, and he served his purpose.
Trump order the withdrawal a year before.
It was probably the best call. As it either would tarnish his second term, or it would look like a complete failure by a Democrat.

@@sng1867 The 2008 recession was caused by deregulation of the housing market in the late 90s. Anyone knows that.
Afghanistan was caused by Reagan. Which again, if people were educated in the least they would know this. If the US in it's infinite wisdom of intervention would have funded *a few* refugee camps teaching this children. We would not have had the Taliban. It would have cost under 500 million. (Instead the camps were funded by Wahhabists)
Instead we got the WTC bombing, 9/11, and an almost 20 year war in Afghanistan.
If we didn't help Ukraine, I can only imagine damage to the US in the long term.

I’m happy we pulled out but the way it went down was just ridiculous. Not only did Biden leave all that brand new equipment over there, he left a bunch of people behind.

I get that you guys are making a video on the unpopularity issue of Biden, but I have to say, your tone felt like it was attempted at further intensifying the popularity. I liked how you pointed out the fact that the US economy was recovering better than expected and it is the second stimulus during covid times (the first one from biden) that added fuel to the fire of inflation. But when you were talking about the environmental regulations that he enacted, your tone and annotation directly implied that you think regulating/restricting the hydrocarbon industry in a way to transition toward clean energy is wrong, hence denying the necessity of the issue. I have always felt that you guys were more or less impartial while making videos, but this felt out of place. Also, the video deserved a better title. You yourself said that Biden is doing really great on foreign policy. And finally, this video becomes one sided when you leave out that fact that getting bills passed in the senate is harder than ever. Republicans create a gridlock for every type of bill that tries to address public investment (also there's the issue of Joe Manchin affecting the B3) and don't propose any on their own. You also talked about increasing taxes on the ultra wealthy as directly harmful for business (so you're implying conservative/trickle down economics directly, which makes the argument more of personal opinion than fact based assessment). Really expected better from you guys on this one.
They made fact based assessments, these issues are identified by economics experts from backgrounds as Harvard and Princeton University. The problem here is your bias and ego is not able to accept information that counters your personal beliefs.
