I dont watch Live TV that often, but I DO watch it for things like that. MOST people I know have some sort of access to live TV. (and I believe you can still get access to CBS via antenna so its not even like you need to pay for cable), my family just got rid of cable and switched to hulu live for all that. I don't watch most TV shows live, but award shows, some reality shows, things like the Oprah interview, SPORTS, all of that I watch live

You can talk to the admissions counselors of schools to ask for feedback or tips on how to strengthen your application. You can even talk to your undergrad advisor for help. There are articles online you can look up with more info to consider with how to move forward and not feel so alone with the initial rejection. Good Luck!
That happened to me the first time around. The two things that helped me the second time were 1) making sure I did everything well before the deadlines, and 2) reevaluating how I approached my letters of intent, making them a lot more personal and not dry and formulaic like what I thought they were looking for.
