I have an HM65R, and use it as the light for my wheelchair when I am out late. where I live sidewalks are rough, and broken if they exist at all, and hitting a broken bit of concrete or a hole in the ground with my front caster can throw me clear out of the chair. being able to light up my path for a long distance in front of me has been a real game changer for me. I no longer worry about getting home, and if I need to I can charge it from the battery backup I always carry for my kindle and phone. I carry it in my side pouch, so I store it, and the cable inside an old ridgid sided glasses case. works perfectly.

The point of red is for it to NOT be bright.

HM65R is such a great design. Great size and weight if you wear a headlamp a lot.

Can you use spare 18650 rechargeable batteries with these or will they only work with the 18650 battery that comes with the light? Thanks

There are some reviews on TH-cam that have a problem with the noise emitted from the HM65R when in high mode, has this been looked into?

Fenix I bought the hm65r headtorch due to light duration very very disappointing I put it in the 400 lumens spotlight on 22 hours it says nope lasted 4 hours I have since learned I'm not the only one and all fenix said to the others is buy another battery This is not what your answer should be you are false advertising the run times on the light ,I am sending mine back as fals advertising Hope you reply

Has anyone figured out how to put a red filter on the flood side of the HM65R-T? Using this night sailing and red (ideally high power red as well to see sails) is a must to maintain night vision. Thinking of epoxying a filter permanently on... The tiny red led on the other lights is too weak to do anything other than reading. Wish the HM65R-T had threads on the lens barrels. Any thoughts are welcome.

Due the the design of the HM65R-T, a filter can not be attached to it. However, the Fenix HL40R can hold 34mm filters and has a focus lens.

this is NOT an Outdoor torch.
It will NOT give you a warning - if the battery is going to die. - you will have to remove it from head and check
(MIllion dollads for someone who tells me how to do this when rappeling down the mountain)
Buckels are reversed in factory - shame. To place them in correct position - one have to fiddle with straps - but the buckels wont be in correct piosition anyway.
Manual tells some rubish - battery is charged when green or not if red - but in mine - both led green and red are on!
Good luch with serching for a decent torch.
(Using Petzl - that would inform me if battery is going to die way befor it would - 15 years and it broke)
    Very disappointing.

      What torch do you recommend?

@@123ChrisG good question - sold one - now trying to get used to Fenix - even its not perfect.
Id try Petzl - one of those in which you can replace accu with batteries, bu the proces are steep - and some are quite heavy. Dont have a perfect answer for you.

I believe white and red means it is not full but not super low. Fenix does mention this in the product description on Amazon and on their website. Most manuals regardless of the manufacturer are really just quick start guides especially with products like these that tend to be easy to operate.

I have had bad luck with two Petzels....their plastic in the battery area crack....granted this was about 2 years of use... thinking that with Fenix being made of metal I will not have that frustrating experience......time will tell, for now I'm loving my hm61r....it is not a powerhouse....but then again I'm not exploring forest or caves.....just walking the dog or anything that comes up at night........I don't need super long run times or massive lumens......KISS is my moto.
