How joyful it is watching this and listening to your dialogue. Yes you are lucky, supremely lucky in being able to experience this and all I can do is live vicariously through you. So many stories and scenarios that I conjure up in my head when I watch your videos. It's all just breathtaking.

Another great video after I discovered you doing the Fernworthy walk of my youth.
I must say though I'm starting to get concerned that I may burn up hours of my spare time mentally walking in your boots while watching your excellent vids!
I've done a few New Forest walks (I live in Southampton) in the snow and you are so right about the white stuff adding an extra dimension to a walk. There is no sound like the crunch of boot on fresh, crisp snow. Good man !!!

Haha, I often find myself glued to other youtubers videos 😊 Yes, a walk through the snow is always so good, especially if yours are the first footprints 😁

great film! a rarely filmed stone row, and as you say , as the worlds longest youd think it would have more attention. I walked and filmed this 6 years ago now, tho when i did it , it was the height of summer! but the snow just set it off wonderfuly, Not been down that way for a while, i feel a hike back down that way long overdue, cheers for sharing a magical day with us..ATB WJ

Thank you for your kind comments Jay. Yes, I was surprised when I searched for more information, there was very little, hardly anything on TH-cam. I got very lucky with the weather that day. Have a fantastic time when you’re next down here on Dartmoor 😁😁😁

Now watched video 3 times it was so good. Wonderfully shot. I have been to Stalldon stone row but not Staldon. One for later on when i visit the Ted Lakes. Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to you. Rich.

Thanks Rich, it's a great walk, only about a mile and half north of Stalldown, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I was tempted to walk across to the volcano at Red Lake, if I had more time I would have but didn't want to take a chance of getting back before the sun set. I love Stalldown Stone Row, that's a great walk too, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too.

It seems to be very nice to discover these stones ways and you are so enthusiastic! You make me feel like going to Dartmoor one day in winter but I have to say also to meet these half wild horses so attractive to me!

Wow! 😊Great video Graeme! Such stunning scenery and you caught beautiful Dartmoor so wonderfully 👏I will have to add your walk today to my 2023 list😊. I haven't explored the south moor as much as the other parts of Dartmoor, the snow and sun really made it such a perfect setting! Merry Christmas to you and a Very Happy New Year. Cheers, Pete

Thanks Pete, it was amazing, by far one of my favourite walks I’ve done. Unfortunately, a lot of the stone row was either hidden or covered in snow, but to walk the length of it felt good. It’s a fair walk to get to as well so nice and remote with nobody in sight 😁 Have a fantastic festive season and all the best wishes for 2023 🎉

Wow, that's amazing that you posted this as I have become really interested in this stone row after I saw it mentioned in some old book recently. There is hardly anything about it on youtube, maybe a couple of videos.
Never heard of it before, don't understand why it's not known more since it's a Guinness book material!
I'd love to go there but I am very much a Dartmoor hiking newbie. Do you know of anyone who might take people there on tour? I don't live very far. Thanks for such a great video!

Hi Clay, thank you for your kind comments 😁 I’ve ran through this stone row before more than once and ran along little bits of it too, but only recently realised it’s the longest known stone row in the world. When I researched it. I read some comments advising not to walk it after rainy weather, but as we hadn’t had a lot of rain in the past week, and plenty of frost/snow, I decided to try it as the ground would have hardened. It’s a cracking route to follow, I loved it in the snow and would also be great on a different day as well where you could see more of the stones. The only person I know of who does guided walks/runs on Dartmoor is Colin from Run Venture running shop in Tavistock. I’ve often thought about it and one day, I might look into guided runs and walks 🤞😁 Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄

@@dartmoor.adventurer thank you for responding! I definitely need to visit this row one day. I'm a subscriber so if you decide to take people there, do let us know. I will also look up Run Venture. Do you know of forums, FB groups etc where I could find people to hike on Dartmoor with? Thanks again.
Merry Christmas wishes to you and your family too!

I wonder what they used those stones for. Something nasty and religious I bet. Or they could have been nice peaceful types and that's why they disappeared.
