for question 2 (individual object analysis), I did it the other way. I used the brick to find the tension. My net force was 0.93N to the right and my friction was 1.05N left. I didn't quite understand. Could you help?
You can't find the tension unless you 1st find the acceleration. That means you need to do a system analysis 1st to calculate the acceleration. The only other method is to use a system of 2 equations generated by 2 free body analyses of each object. I recommend the system analysis
