Ya im practicing it i also did it today and it was a skinny horse ro raising is crazy on those things in trot. And when the staff started cantering it felt luke i was about to fall but i stopped the horse whuch i dont thunk is goid and i shouldn't have the ability to di tgat at that time.
I almost fell off once and the first time I cantered I was just trying to post lol 😂. The second time was the time I almost fell off the easiest horse ever to ride… very embarrassing… Luckily I had friends to reassure me and relate and they said it’s alright (I’m still learning to canter but haven’t cantered since. I’m hoping I can this summer but I haven’t seen my trainer in a while :/ cuz of school)
Wow that was very good! A thing that has helped me to canter is to, move your hips with the canter! It Helps you to stay right into the saddle! Making sure you won’t fall ❤️

First canter looks great! (Small tip) You should raise your right heel up as such a deep heel will cause ligament issues and bad pain in the future (also if your heels are too far down balance can be hard no hate tho keep riding!) ❤❤

I fell off and semi permanently bruised my tail bone and having my back things collide together falling on a stick about 4-5 years ago and couldn’t ride after that. Now i have really bad social anxiety but im working up to mentally be able to ride again because my back is doing ok now

maybe let her instructor do that job of telling her what to do, her instructor might be telling her different n them she feels under pressure. i know you want to help then but you have to understand that horse riding takes alot of time to get decent at. she also has alot of ppl im the comments telling her what to do. no hate to you, just a comment :)

OK good start but these are simple tips for anyone when riding a horse make sure to sit back and deep in your saddle even if you’re posting when you come down if you’re leaning forward in your horse bucks you’ll go flying make sure to keep your arms in and if you keep your legs underneath of you it’ll be easier to post
You could working on putting your arms inward, it’s like your hugging a teddy bear but holding the reins too. You can also work on staying balanced and staying still I know your still learning but pls focus on these things. Good job though (I’m late too

When I first cantered, I was on this lil 14.2hh gelding, shortest stride I've ever sat lol. Btw I did drop my reins and lost one o my stirrups, but I stayed on, hope you can have a good experience cantering too!

actually i think for your first time cantering it is better to not have as much of a contact. This girl has a lovely still seat but most of the time people bounce and if you have a contact you will pull on the horse mouth. That is my opinion on it
Today was my first time riding English I usually ride western or bareback, but riding English was quite fun. It’s a little bit uncomfortable. For me at least, but when I cantered, it was actually kind of fun.😊
Omg it's her first time what the heck are people giving advice?? She has an amazing teacher who will teach her that. You can't do this perfectly the first time. Nor the 2nd time. For most people it takes atleast a year to do canter as perfect as possible. How annoying

in my opinion i always get people to loosen their reins before their first canter. If they bounce they'll be less likely to pull on the horses mouth
