Why does every mission to Mars movie have some absurdly complicated conspiracy? And why is every spaceship run by a bunch of hotheaded idiots you wouldn't trust to run a McDonalds?
Because you need drama as the impetus for characters to interact. They are imperfect, they make mistakes, which adds to the tension and engages the audience.
What you say is true but it is not the only way. The movie "The Martian" didn't rely on this. If we were in a future where space travel is common and this was a janitorial staff, it might be more acceptable. @@vincelupone
Komarov was killed when Soyuz 1 slammed into the ground because his 'chutes didn't deploy. He spent the rest of his journey back down to Earth cursing out the Russian space agency.
@@bajszosjozsef4850 And history repeat itself. American are rushing to the moon because they copy China research and plan. They will probably be some american astronaut sacrifice
I love that filmmakers are never able to grasp with their little brains that the genotype determines the phenotype. If a creature had a genome made of triple helix, it couldn't look human.
But what if the extra AI side of the helix "controlled" everything about the helix? as to what it would look like, etc? I'm genuinely asking cause I have zero knowledge in that field
also if it had 3 helixes it wouldn't be dna, rna is just single stranded dna that has an oxygen in the sugar and switches thymine for uracil. so triple stranded (if even possible) would be a completely different molecule
Lets see a Mars movie where the problem is not the equipment. I was rolling my eyes so hard they nearly did a full circle with how much of their sh!t broke and malfunctioned.
I'm amused how much nicer the people are in the French crew than if we had made it in the states. An American crew would have had a mutiny and two murders by halfway through.

Both is correct, depending on Mars position and route. The planned route by SpaceX also will take between 9-10 month (if Elon Musk ever gets it up for the trip)
lost interest and switched off after 5 minutes due to ridiculous number of twists, wouldnt watch this on TV as I would find it infuriating and not believable.
