Really sorry guys, but for some reason this has uploaded in 480 instead of 1080. After we release part 2, we will release them together as one long vlog in 1080p. Going to blame it on the witches, first my laptop broke for the first time editing this so got delayed releasing this and now this 😂

Well, I think the witch is tech savvy maybe he/she is controlling your uploads 😂😂😂.Finally! Emma looks like in the Hunger Games setting in that moment when the birds were chirping in the background. But Im confused, harry potter is there as well... 🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂😂
As a historical context to these “witches”, prior to the Spanish conquests, the healers of the people are women called “babaylan/catalonan”. When the Spanish came, the Catholic friars demonized these healers as witches in order to facilitate the acceptance of the Filipinos of Catholicism. Looking forward to Part 2.
I remember my RPH Professor said that the early Filipinos favored the friars due to their superior supernatural power cuz they displayed supernatural abilities that surpasses their native healers. It is because of the “Man of Prowess” culture of the Filipinos, the more supernatural abilities you show the more you prove yourself to be the leader. The early Filipinos willingly submit themselves to the friars because of that.
Albularyo. (AL-BOO-LAR-YO) faith healer. Its exist since pre-colonial times. They do perform healing, exorcism, massage (HILOT) and bewitching (KULAM) . it exist mostly in a remote area in the whole Philippines especially those places where medical services are not accessible. Sometimes rural settlers would rather see the albularyo than the doctors. It is cheaper for them.
Michael Roxas ... or quack doctors, let me just add. Remote areas in d phils don't hav quick access to professional doctors so residents resort to these healers who practically learned from their oldies who heal on a trial-&-error method. Btw... i luuuuuv syquijor even if i haven't been there. As soon as i can afford, it's my first go-to ❤️
I've seen so many travel vlogs about the Philippines and it's mostly about Boracay or the other beaches so I really enjoyed this one because it's unique!! Keep up the amazing work guys!
Yeah. Names have power so if any of them gives their name and admit they're a witch they can expect _a few asshole witches_ to take advantage of this. A good rule of thumb for any witch: Keep quiet and practice.
I'm Fili and sometimes I'm annoyed with too loud fellow pinoys. I can't see much positive with loud noisy people lol taking over the scene. Not all Filipinos are acting like those. Luck I wasn't there.
hahaha 480 or not that was a great way to end it! Very catching and leaving people with question. Your storytelling is geting better which makes your vlogs better and better everytime!
Healers and people who practice such stuff are common in remote islands and mountians in the Philippines. Commonly healing is practiced by doing faith or spiritual massage. 😅
I love that you show these things too. It highlights different aspects of the Filipino culture. The beaches are amazing, but there are also other interesting stuff in our culture.
They got curious of what locals beliefs on this island...they want to find out if this one true...white peps are more brave whenever they’re curious but Filipino easy to believe without seeing it
Ah, that's so sweet of you guys, thank you for appreciating the filipinos. :-) It is indeed an honor to have you here on the country, grateful and happy to hear from you. :-)
I really enjoyed the cinematography and the energy of this video. Loved the interaction with the fun Filipino family...definitely made me smile. Looking forward to part 2...Keep up the great work!
In Bohol (where my parents are from), blowing smoke (using a Tobacco leaf) on one's back is a traditional way of healing people from his/her tummy discomfort, fever, sprain, and other pains one might be feeling in his/her body. We call it "Buhot". I think healers also use that style of healing to drive away negative energy/bad spirits wished upon a person by another ("Gibuyagan").
Enchanted island of my beloved Philippines..how I wish I could visit there and enjoy the peace and quiet..You guys are really lucky to visit paradise..
Their power is inherited to them, and it will to generation to generation. The power can cure but there's a bad side, if someone appears in their dreams (even someone close to them) they have no choice but to do something bad to that person, otherwise it will make them weak or they get sick.
Not really that accurate. There’s something called being a “generational witch”.Witchcraft is a practice and anyone can get into it. Every witch practices differently and saying that they have NO CHOICE but to harm someone or they’ll get weak or sick is not true at all.
Peter Rillera tabi tabi po as I know it, is something you say when you see a termite mound because it is believed that a troll like creature will curse you if you don’t announce your respect as you pass near.
Love the cinematics. I can only dream of doing that in such a beautiful location. Healers and witches notwithstanding, thank you for taking the time to bring such scenery to life. 👏
I went to Siquijor a few years ago and i still remember, upon arriving in the tiny port I felt chills (in a good way). The water in the port was so clear and turquoise even though the weather was super gloomy. It really felt magical!! I really felt that there was some sort of spiritual being/energy surrounding the island. Siquijor is so beautiful and underrated. Thanks for making this video! I know for sure to go back and learn more about the witches. My great grandfather was a healer but sadly he passed away before I could learn more about his gift.
My family visited this island in 2019. We didn't search for witches, but did go to the old banyan tree which is also said to have healing properties from a body of water at its base (with nip-at-your-feet tiny fish).
I think the Filipino cultural tradition of "faith healing" has been practiced by non - modern healers of long ago. But only in the very hinterlands does it continue to thrive in the Philippines.
You are lucky to find one!!! Beautiful video my friend. I haven’t been to Sequijor but watching this video makes me feel like I am actually in this beautiful place 💕😘😁👍
Next time you go, you should try Davao. It is in Mindanao (which is deemed to be “more dangerous”, but I feel like it’s actually safe). Try going to Samal island in Davao. My friends and family went to Giant Clam Sanctuary and the corals are still in good condition and well protected
Terrific.... Glory to Lord Christ Jesus works of His ✋ hand just so amazing..... May GOD blessed you both... keeping you safe for exploring and presenting wonderful video blog....
This feels like I am watching a Blair Witch Project type of movie. With the home video camera and the actors did something foolish and then everything went wrong, creepy and scary. Hahahaha. Always stay safe you two. Love the both of you. BTW, there are really scary stories about witches or "mangkukulam" as we call it Filipino in Siquijor. There is a worse kind of witch and we call them "mambabarang". This type of witch will put curse on you and all sort of crawling insects, worms and bugs will get out of your body like in your mouth, ears, nose and sometimes there are inside your skin. There is also a mythical creature from urban legend known as "Aswang", that according to the legend, they originated from Siquijor. They are shapeshifters. They devour human organs like liver, heart, intestines. It scared the sh*t out of me when I was little. Anyway, it was nice to see a new video from you guys.
Siquijor is home and Island of witches and its mystic! before it become the tourist destination. People/filipinos are scared to go there because of the lores :) We believe in those
Very cool. Can't wait to see part 2! Natural healing is usually the best way to go, especially if they deal with energies!! I hope I was cool...ooo part 2... Lol
Just woke up from a dream that I was in a voodoo place was a bit scared and curious and so I searched Siquijor and I found your vlog. Never regret watching the vlog!!😍 I’m a Filipino as well but never been to Siquijor maybe I’ll visit soon because of this.
Witches are very common in Philippines. Our country people who commonly grew or as we speak of "tubong pilipino" aren't freaked out because it's part of our culture, such as traditional healers like an "albulariyo" or a traditional witch "mangkukulam". I personally respect these people because they were part of our history. I was even blessed and naturally born with a third eye, so maybe my ancestor was a witch. All in all, Filipino witchcraft is creepy (I swear, in colonial times, dark magick was everywhere), but I don't mind visiting a witchcraft woman to aid me.
SIQUIJOR IS A VERY QUIET AND BEAUTIFUL PLACE, JUST LIKE U GUYS I REALLY LOVE TO GO TO OTHER PROVINCES BEACAUSE IM A NATURE LOVER, I LOVE D SMELL OF A GRASS, TREE AND ALSO D BREEZE, AND THE PEOPLE IN THE PROVINCE ARE ALWAYS HAPPY,
I hope you guys enjoying your stay here in the island. I hope you discover more of the hidden treasure here in SIQUIJOR. proud siquijorian here. Cant wait to watch part 2. 😜😁
couldn't write everything wanted to say coz the witches prevented me from doing so........you guys are very brave. what you are doing is the ultimate definition of adventure...i love your vlogs and i'm always praying for your safety.
When we visit the island, we respect the locals, smile at them not because of the witchcarft they know but because they're friendly. Its a peaceful island.
I'm a Boholana been living Japan for 26 years now and it's been 10 years since my last visit there in 2008 so,it's really funny watching your videos and you have amazing character.thanks for travelling my country and watching your videos helped my kamingaw nabawasan ng konti.upload more from Bohol please.or if you're there yet visit my parents in Alicia Town.in a little barrio called Caupig my parents name are Destong& Lydia Libres.
Witches in Siquijor recently eradicates the stigma of calling themselves as such since they really do perform great works of healing as well as destruction. But today, they wanted to renew such image. Most of the great Witches and Healers comes from Siquijor. So do not mess around with them. Such old & creepy stories bring a lot of enchantment & attraction to dat small island.
OMG , the same healer did "bolobolo" on me and a bunch of my classmates...and we are a bunch of physicians on a reunion-vacation on the island! lol! By the way, your cinematics are gorgeous!!
Oh we just went along with it, at the tour guide's behest. We have a Filipino saying for it " Bahala na!" or in Spanish - "Que sera sera!" Whatever will be, will be! Just for experience I guess, but it was ok! I have grown to love Siquijor a lot though! It was the very mysterious island of my childhood when our ship passes by it coming from Cagayan de Oro City where I grew up. But I am glad that it is only now being discovered otherwise the island people's way of life would be very urban like the other big islands in the country.! Enjoy the rest of your stay in the country and safe , happy travels!!
A traditional method of healing especially for those people don't have access to hospitals or clinics. You should try "HILOT" basically it's like a massage but more intense and you feel better once you try it.
Happy to see you worked through the Technical Difficulties. Great job, did you need to have a witch remove a curse.? hahah Beautiful people, so friendly with huge smiles.
Love the topic of the video. Maybe you can re-shoot it near twilight because I can imagine that jungle path shot towards the end will be so creepy at that time.
Hi guys .if you appreciate nature .you have to accept whats included in any particular place of nature. You have to learn how to respect the place.. believe me guys its good for you.😊
Emma i watched also your old vlog, you are similar face with tulisa...why you dont try to explore in northern luzon to change, and make some different vlog like history about philippines ..
Hi Travel Beans...if you want to see witches...get here in Luzon in the place called Quiapo...there's a place there that sells "witch stuffs" and "amulets"...finding a witch there will be more easier...
Didn’t even realise it’s 480, but then again I was watching on my mobile lol. I thought you could change it to 1080 (or 4K) on the video settings of the vid?
Really sorry guys, but for some reason this has uploaded in 480 instead of 1080. After we release part 2, we will release them together as one long vlog in 1080p. Going to blame it on the witches, first my laptop broke for the first time editing this so got delayed releasing this and now this 😂
Travel Beans Can't wait for the complete part to plop out and show it to Dion on telli.
I know I keep saying it over and over, but man! I love the intro! ❤💛💚💙💜

Witches in Siquijor do exists 😂 They're just hiding their identity, I believe. But they won't actually harm you unless you harm them first.
True. Even in the cities there are both in and out of coven.
Yeah. Names have power so if any of them gives their name and admit they're a witch they can expect _a few asshole witches_ to take advantage of this.
A good rule of thumb for any witch: Keep quiet and practice.
You look like Harry Potter( Daniel Radcliff)! 😀
Parang gusto ko din matutu nyan gusto ko maging witch hehe
Witches are pretty much all over the world
I’m Filipino living in California and I feel like I’m tourist in my own country...thanks for sharing your vlogs
Hugs to hugs
Do be careful meeting a magkukulam they are evil sorcerer
They are the nemesis of healer witches.
Filipinos are loud guys, sorry for that.
That is how we share our positive vibes with everyone - that was really intense indeed! :-D
It was great meeting them, they were a lot of fun.
Travel Beans hehehe
I'm Fili and sometimes I'm annoyed with too loud fellow pinoys. I can't see much positive with loud noisy people lol taking over the scene. Not all Filipinos are acting like those. Luck I wasn't there.

Healing is something that's very old in the Philippines. You will find it in almost all rural areas.
You really impress me with your cinematography. How I love it, just like movie! This is the best Siquijor video I have seen, thank you!
