I like that his first couple sightings are normal, but then he begins to appear in locations that make you wonder if he is something more than a man with a briefcase.
Even the second sighting is really odd. When you first see him he's going in the opposite direction but he still gets where you're going before you do.

I hope they expand on him but don't give a full solid answer to what he is, like you have a general idea of what he could be but its not definitive. Just give us enough to have some ideas but don't give us enough to have a true answer or explanation

Man, Half-Life 2 wasn't even creepy, it was downright fucking scary. Source games have always had that eerie lonesome atmosphere, but top that off with the knowledge that G-Man is following you around and it feels like you're being watched at the same time. Moments especially like Ravenholm and Highway 17 genuinely makes my skin crawl.
I honestly don’t get that feeling. Source games are really comforting to me because they’re been a huge source (pun intended) of nostalgia in my life and I just feel happy when I’m playing them. So the only part that creeps me out is G-Man himself

I have this theory about the Gman that, after seeing the vortigaunts steal Gordan and Alyx from him at the beginning of Episode 1, Gman may have tried to go further back in time, before Gordon arrived, and change the past so that it favors him more, as per the "nudges" he's "authorized" to make every now and then, but the Combine actually manage to trap him using captured Vortigaunts, after Alyx frees him unknowingly. He may have realized he'll have more luck changing the future rather than the past, so he returns to the present in Ep2 for his "Heart-to-heart" with Gordon where he has a newfound interest in Alyx and explains how he can no longer help him without outright telling Gordon that he's been replaced, as Alyx saved Gman and therefore works for him now. And as such, after saving Eli in the present, she was taken and Gordon was "fired". In a way, the storyline matches, albeit with the "retconned" ending of Ep2
My favorite part about the first game is that we don’t Have a one on one interaction with Gman until the end. But we see him before that. So imagine it’s 1999 and you just beat half life and want to play it again. Then while playing it you start to notice the gmans been watching you the entire time. That’s gotta be freaky

There's a glitch I discovered by accident at New Little Odessa (10:10) the first time I played this game. If you go straight there and fight the gunship without looking through the binoculars at the house first, you can go back to the house, look through the binoculars to see the original scene it was meant to show. Then go back to NLO to find both the G-Man and Cubbage still standing there. Totally awkwardly of course. Cubbage runs away from you while G-Man just casts you occasional disinterested glances. Was not expecting to ever see him up close like that.

Alyx was changed in Half life 2 ep 2 when she was healed. What she does in HL Alyx with the vortigauns powers is proof that what happened in Hl2 ep 2 rippled through time to her very being. What she does at the end with Gman is change the world through out side of space time with her connection with the vortescance. This is why she is of extraordinary value! She is more than human now, all of alyxes at every moment of her life are linked at the vortescance
I think we're to assume that her memories of the events of HL:A were wiped at the end of the game and she was placed back in the timeline shortly after that point were the gman was released. So she didn't know she had those powers. This next part is just theorizing, but when gman says he agreed to abide by certain restrictions at 15:20 in this video, perhaps he agreed to keep his hands off Gordon in exchange that the vortigaunts never told Alyx about her powers.@@Spineblorg

I always assumed that the advisors were of the original combine master race but this would explain a bit. What if the advisor that watches you in the later games is him, seen as there are less sightings G-man sightings at the same time?
What's interesting to me about The G-Man is that he seems to be, for me personally, a figment of metaphorical poetry. I strongly think that his briefcase provide him with some kind of immense power, some sort of a tool given to him by his employers to do their interests. As soon as he grabbed the suit case everything around them started to change, And as soon as Alyx touched the briefcase she teleported and started seeing the future.
The G-Man is my all time favorite video game antagonist, Valve truly created a unique character, his appearance, the way he addresses Gordon Freeman, all done in a sinister way, his charisma, mystery, everything about the character is truly unlike anything else in gaming. The fact that the original Half-Life is 25 years old now and we still don’t know who exactly the G-Man is, so many countless theories yet still a mystery, simply remarkable writing by Valve. 👏👏👏

The way I see the gman, he can't do much more than move people to the right places, either by persuasion or more supernatural methods. His employers want him to do something, so he has to find a way to get a person to do the job. I also like to think that there are probably other entities like him on other errands, other gmen and gwomen.

The G-Man is my all time favorite video game antagonist, Valve truly created a unique character, his appearance, the way he addresses Gordon Freeman, all done in a sinister way, his charisma, mystery, everything about the character is truly unlike anything else in gaming. The fact that the original Half-Life is 25 years old now and we still don’t know who exactly the G-Man is, so many countless theories yet still a mystery, simply remarkable writing by Valve. 👏👏👏

i moved so fast with the airboat that i actually saw him before teleporting i even shot him but he is invincible

The way I see the gman, he can't do much more than move people to the right places, either by persuasion or more supernatural methods. His employers want him to do something, so he has to find a way to get a person to do the job. I also like to think that there are probably other entities like him on other errands, other gmen and gwomen.
