Hello...😀, To take those kitchen tiles till top was a good step. As an Architect I would also have suggested the same. Because taking the tiles till edge gives a more rich look, which won't look good if left in the middle. You can also add a moulding Rib wooden end or a T- shaped metal strip in golden colour to make that tile end on right hand looks more smooth transition.

Just a Suggestion… like on the left side there are 7 columns of tiles and on the right there are 4 columns of tiles …. (Ik you said that it will be difficult to cut the tiles near switches but can do 7 on both the sides ? )
Good decision on tiles as later it will be easier to clean the oil deposit in the wall from cooking. Tiles are generally used because of that property. Paint will go yellowish and difficult to clean

You should do tiling on left side wall of your cooktop. It will prevent the wall from oil slash while you are cooking.

The tiles should be soaked in water for some time and cut by spraying water while cutting. Cutting this way will not break the tiles
Maybe u should use tile in the other side of where you induction is as it save the wall from oil and food from cooking
