    Wow. That combat encounter had a great synergy. I love that in these games. I am backing the game finally. ;)

      The combat is relatively simple but it's still great fun and kind of unique by choosing your stance every round.

    well done! BTW you skipped reducing the Danger Level in the Witchwood after the fight so you technically don't have to fight this second set of monsters(!)

    13:07: I think the Skinwalker is supposed to target the character with the most wounds, not the most health. :)

      Thanks - had to run this through a translator, but I sure you are correct: I have missed the occasional rule (or two) ;-)

    You sould not move your heart counter when you take damage. You should move the drop. You heart represents you max HP (CON x 2).

    What does the cross hair on the black wizards attack value do?
    I figured it is to denote range attack :-)

    • @Elm4e90
      @Elm4e90 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does mean ranged attack, however that only matters for certain abilities and other cards, it still attacks like normal. Hope that helps a year after you asked it lol.

    Apart from the kinky theme, I can't see anything that makes this game stand out from the dozens (hundreds?) of other dice and card "adventure" games. However, the artwork is great.

      When I first read rules I thought the same but it really offers a lot of stuff and especially the theme makes it stand out. The missions and the campaign mode are also very enjoyable.

    • @valziboy

      What makes it stand out other than the theme?

    • @realjplay
      @realjplay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's definitely not reinventing the genre, that much is clear but exactly because of the theme I find it quite refreshing. And personally I like the quick but still effective combat mechanics.

    • @valziboy
      @valziboy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jPlay ah, okay. So it's not particularly good except combat and theme. I love the theme, but I think I'll have to skip at that price.

      Lots of little things set this apart from the rest, but the main thing is the campaign system. This easily has the most robust campaign system WITHOUT being legacy that I've ever seen in a board game. It's kind of mind blowing how involved it is, and the amount of player agency is off the charts.
      Just look at the first mission as an example. You start in jail, and a guard asks you to do a fetch quest for him in exchange for your freedom. You can agree, or you can choose to fight the guard. If you fight him, you start a completely different first quest. If you agree to the fetch quest, there are three different options of where that quest can end - each a choice you can make - and each of these lead to different missions. Or you can get the thing the guard wants, and then not take it anywhere, but instead go off on your own, which leads to a different quest.
      Or, something might happen when you get the thing that makes you have to do something else entirely.
      And there are like 20 missions all with that kind of complexity.
      Not to mention that the game world is easily the most robust of any game I've played. The world feels lived in, like it is drawing from decades of lore. The developers have released multiple books of back stories and bestiary information, all of which add a ton to the game.
      It's a complete package that makes it by far the best of the overland fantasy adventure games.
