Wonderful series. You do a great job of balancing your video work with relevant, informative commentary. And you did pick a beautiful trail to hike. Thanks for sharing.
Because of out disability we can’t track but we love to drive and explore.I love the way you will find a direction sign written on a piece of cardboard,so helpful. There is always one of those village shops where the men gather to gossip while the ladies tend to the cows, goats and crops. We often follow a track in the mountains only to find it just runs out and we have to do a very precarious turn. You bring back such good memories, thank you.
What app are you using to guide yourself? Your videos are great. We're headed on the trail in late March. Loving your recommendations on places to stay! What did you do for lunches?
- I use the app from trekopedia. I have to say that I used it more to research before I left then on the track it self. I just love the adventure feeling of not nowing and just following the markers. - I carry creackers, coffee and some dry noodles with me. Just in case I get lost or stuck. Everywhere you stay you can take extra food at breakfast for lunch. Just ask. For me it worked every time. Boiiled egg some tomato, cheese and my crackers do fine for me. - I am going back in march too. Let's hope we have no rain. Good luck!
Thanks for the wonderful and informative video, I'll be doing this Hike in April 2020. Please let me know which App you used to help navigate the trail. Thanks in advance...On to your next video
Hi, I like the quality and commentary in your videos. What is phone reception like on the trail? I know there are areas with no reception, but what about at the villages along the way? Wishing you strength on your adventure!
Phone reception overall real good. Only with big mountains going up around you it fails sometimes. I might get worse on the next sections when it will become more remote. But I have to say Turkey is well covered. I also have a mobile internet device and that works on satellite.
Hey I enjoyed your Lycian way videos. I’m planning on hiking the path this January. Do you know what the general weather is like that time of year? Is the trail doable then?
You can do it. But the mountain sections will be cold, can have snow. Start at the Fethiye side. That will give you enough time to find out if the inland mountain sections are safe
@@ambientmusichikingwithjosh2720 There won't be many dogs I think. The mountain pastures are empty. Normal street dogs you can stop by holding up your hand like a stop sign. Fingers up, arm stretched. It helps. Plus pretending to pick up a rock or actually doing so. They run. I am scared of the big dogs, if you are not you are ok. They never attack without a reason. Make sure you have a good working app. Do you also have something that works offline?
@@AtHomeInTurkey Thanks for the advice on the dogs. Yeah, I have a couple of good hiking apps that work well offline. I remember in one of your videos, you said there is a section where the trail is really washed out and dangerous. Do you remember the section I'm talking about?
@@ambientmusichikingwithjosh2720 I think that is Göynük Canyon close to the end. One to be careful for in the winter anyway. You might not be able to do the river crossing.

Thanks still lots to learn but enough trail here in Turkey to do so.
wow such beauty...not for the weak or timid. Thanks for sharing. Glad you made it okay.
Thanks! I wish I did this 20 years ago with a more willing body haha.
I like your energy and showing to the people to see beauties in simple things.
Thanks! I do my best.

Thanks for your kind words. This hike has been the best way to see the country so far and I hope to keep going.
Recommended your channel to my mum and she loves it.. especially videos at the market and turkish breakfast 😄💜
How nice is that!

@@AtHomeInTurkey That's good to know. Do you know about snow levels on the trail in December and January months?
@@creationcenterTV No I don't but I think you will be ok. Most of it is coastal and there is no snow normally. But don't take my word for it.
Getting better the longer the walk Ellis , that was a great story . how are you editing your video on the road ?
Came home after 5 days walking and will go back 19 October. I just can't stay away from home to long at the time, so I do it in sections.
@@AtHomeInTurkey Ah i wondered thought you was carrying it all with you LOL ! that's a good way to do it gives you time to recover too . keep it up !
@@kenkyukai100 I must say that after that week I am afraid if you do more you just don't take it in anymore and than it's only plowing on.
@@AtHomeInTurkey Yes it becomes a slog with your head down most of the way ! i prefer the sort of leisurely way , not that it looks like that

@@AtHomeInTurkey Thanks for the advice. Any tips for dealing with the dogs? Or any other advice. I am going to start on Jan 6th.
