thank you very much for this video. we have a big winter storm coming, and i bought this at a garage sale. and my son-in-law is the one who told me it was a great deal. a good generator. but i had no idea where to start with it. thank you
Very nice. You are obviously a reflective and sharing senior. Very good that you're sharing this knowledge!
I run TWO 20 ft RV's with 30 inch LED TV's, surround sound, Wii, X-Box, &/orPlaystation, DVD players, and laptops ....all running from ONE Honda 2000i in eco throttle mode. The microwave also runs, which is the only device that pulls extra current when in eco mode. I just saw a video where a guy had a RoadTrek class B RV, and his 2000i ran his rooftop AC NO PROBLEM! He started the genny with the eco OFF, let the genny warm up, and THEN turned on the AC. Then turned on ECO. no problem!
So my fridge/freezer in kitchen and chest freezer in garage wont be too much for this same model? Power outage situation only not every day
Interesting, I'll give that a try cuz so far my genny can not run the A/C
THIS VIDEO WAS VARY INFORATIVE. I JUST PURCHASED ME A NEW EU200I GENETATOR. THANK YOU
IT WOULD BE NICE IF HONDA PUT OUT A VIDEO WITH THEIR GENERATORS LIKE THIS ONE...
I READ THE MANUAL BUT THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER.
OUTSTANDING HANDS ON VIDEO.
I have 2 Honda Generators the one we used for about 10 yrs had to have cab-rater rebuild I think that's a common repair we power our 32ft wheel and it works great .Happy with them .
Good info, thank you. I'm curious which casio watch you are wearing.
It is a fantastic generator and I have it for about 10years now
Excellent! Ty
Excellent review! I especially liked the demonstration on the noise level of the generator.
Best friggin generator I've ever owned. Much like my Honda snowblower ...... they're expensive, but you get what you pay for.
@@SkintSNIPER262 i have a Honda 2000eu and 7000eu for work both very quiet, my buddy was buying champions for years and was getting 500 max hours out of them normally the generator would go before the engine but he now bought a Honda 7000 as well and has i believe almost 3000 hours on it without an issue he runs his constantly in the winter keeping about 15 caddle waterers running all the waterers together draw around 6000-6500 watts, he got a shop to design a system that once a sensor in the fuel tank senses its at around 1/4 of a tank of fuel left it will turn on a pump and pump the tank full from a 50 liter fuel tote beside it
If you're considering a small generator... These Hondas have replacement parts that are readily available. Not that you'll need any, but you can get them on Amazon or Ebay. Try finding parts for your China generators. I researched for weeks and decided to get a used Honda EU2000i that was beat up, but had very low hours. They can be had for $400 (or less) if you are patient. Starts right up, doesn't smoke.
Prices on Ebay range from $300-$400 (old, but still runs), to $500-$600 (average condition), to $750 (very nice condition) to $900 (brand new, open box). These sell every day, since there are so many of them around. Scope 'em out for a few weeks, until you see the one you want.
Excellent review. Very informative. I learned a couple things! Thanks for taking the time to create this video!
Thank you. Very informative and easy to understand. Excellent video.
Thanks for pointing that out. That button is NOT a switch; it is a DC CIRCUIT PROTECTOR. It stays on unless shorted. Pressing the button resets the circuit. I just pointed that out with an annotation on the video.
Thank you so much, it was very informative. Made everything a lot easier.
thank you!
Thanks for taking time to make the video, helpful to me.
Nice, really nice video! Very helpful, have subscribed to your channel.
Very good review I like the way you explain how it works
I have confidance in the EU2000i's inverter system to provide clean safe power to your 46" LCD TV, but then again its your TV and not mine. That being said, and for your own peace of mind you might want to add the addition of a good quality surge protector to your TV. Good luck and enjoy your movies.
Minute 7:07 theirs a drill bit that pops out , and is about to strike on the old man.. but then hides again knowing that theirs a camara filming and will proceed another deadly day ....
sweet, had no idea it could handle a table saw, now I know what I'm bringing to our next football tailgate!
I've got two of these bad boys and LOVE them
Thanks so much. I bought my EU2000i off a forum-er and was playing around with all the switches (testing if they all function properly afterwards) then got worried when that button doesn't "click".
THanks for making this video.
Great vid, just got mine for tailgating!
Thank you, excellent presentation!
I use one for my teardrop camper and can now live off grid for months at a time...
Nice breakdown of this Honda, thanks!
having that geni sitting on a board on a trolley would have to increase the noise level quite a bit, compared to it operating on the ground
Thanks, just got one for Hurricane Irma here in Davie, Florida. Hope I don't need it! :-)
Pepe's Fruit Trees I'm from Hollywood FL OK think u did need it power was out all over.I'm definitely getting myself a Honda also can't go wrong with a honda
Always start these with the eco throttle off.I don't know if that was mentioned,or not.Anyways Good video! also.Is that watch your wearing,a casio data bank?
Wow,that is really a real silent generator.
The output light will also tell you the number of hours that are on your engine so you know when to change the oil. Read the owners manual for that info. You should change your oil at the first 50 hrs and then follow maintenance sched.
Informative video.. any idea how much hours it will run on 1 liter of petrol on full load?
Thanks for the info... But, I assume that the noise of the generator is lower than we can hear in this video as the generator was working over a board and something else I can’t see properly and it certainly it’s amplifying acoustically the noise. If the generator works in the floor (concrete) or over a small board on the grass the noise will be about half of the video is showing.
Have this sane unit it put out 127v when wired to my furnace circuit it will not run the furnace ,why
Do you know where I can get a oil dipstick and other parts for ap2000i generator because I can't find them anywhere
Cruz ✝️ Great información ℹ️ super 🌟
Good job. smiles
This product is nice quiet not like last one I got
great video. thanks for the explanation :-)
well you made my mind up thanks bud
nice honda inverter eu2000i
Very helpful. Cheers.
nice watch! vintage.
I can’t believe TH-cam didn’t flag you for not having that big goofy guard on the blade of that table saw.
Excellent review
Hello. Do you think your Honda guys can find a replacement faceplate of the generator? The grey piece with Honda written on it. I just realised mine is very scratched. No idea how that happened.
how many watts is that SAW...?
So I can run a battery charger and a 1500 watt heater with this 2000 ?? Or use a radiant heater for less power.
hi, good video will it run a washing machine? maybe a new energy efficient one? is there any kind off aircon unit it would run? maybe a really small one for a 2 bed caravan?
Question. Its now 2020 and I want to run two generators linked. I could buy these 2000 watt units for about $400-500 each. Maybe 8 years old? But many have low hours. Or I could buy two of the new 2200's for at least $950-1100 each plus tax. Trying to decide which way to go
how I wished I could get ambient energy to run my loads just like Tesla did to his car..great video anyway!!
Tesla was way ahead of his time, perhaps some day we will catch up with his ideas/inventions.
John Puccetti maybe he was made to look mad because the elite knew it would take money away from them. Imagine free energy.
+Ian Richardson Free energy? Not a chance. (Unless we can get fusion working longer than a few milliseconds). Otherwise, we'll pay through the nose. (2nd Law Thermodynamics).
yo all you uncles who never dare to dream BIG! IF YOU HAVE 800 EUROS TO risk and spare, theres a site in Europe selling handphone that never needs charging again..they also sell handphone charging device for 1200euros that also never needs to be charged to solar or outlet, they do need some time to recover back the lost power from previous charge..check out 'orbo'..they defy and smile like a cat at physics laws of thermodynamics almost to the point of blasphemy..hhhehe
Very helpful video mate .
Thanks, nice review
Hey there. Great video! You sound like the guy to ask about watts. My wife and want to run 1500 watts of string lights along with a 800watt amp for music. Can you tell me if we would need one or two of these puppies to avoid blowing a fuse etc. That would be a big help. Then, of course, we have to find them to rent which is turning out to be a pain. Thanks so much!
How many hours does it take to change an oil
Will this run a portable ac unit that is installed on windows
Mine does. And it does it flawlessly. It is an energy saver AC unit (that may make a difference).
Great Video.. ..I want One.. ( :
I love mine. Just wish it had 220.
Did you put clamp on fuel line
Que garantía
this Honda EU2000 sounds pretty quet!!! inoressive!!!
Hi!
First of all want to thanks for the very helpful video`s eu20-30... What for generator I need to use that i can run washing machine or dryer? thank you
+Anabol Anabol! If I buy eu30is is it enought to run washing machine or washing drayer?
@@anabol1111 you'd need something bigger then 3000 watts cause the average dryer uses around 3000
@@timmyteabag69 thanks buddy,I bought eu70i already and sold it year ago.thanks for reply
Great Video, quick questions, Is your table saw a 15amps ? if yes how was the generator powering it if the generator only powers up to 13.3 amps
I have no idea how many amps the table saw here uses, but Honda generators are rugged and can handle a modest overload for a short period of time.
A buddy of mine has the same unit but you can't even hear it running he does an auto show here in NJ for 3 days and has lights, camper, frig everything plugged into it and you can't hear it running..why is it that all of the same units are loud ???. Thanks
i think its just the camera mines quieter at full throttle then my tractor at idle
I'm looking to purchase this generator just for a 33 inch LCD tv and maybe a fan for tailgating. This should hopefully be an easy load for this generator to handle right?
What kind of oil does it take?
Can the inverter of this generator take a current from a 12 v battery and invert it to 120 v? If so, then I would buy this inverter generator alone and avoid buying both an inverter and a spear ate generator for my van. Thanks for the video.
Unfortunately, no. That would be great if it could, but it's not designed to do that. (But it would be an excellent feature!)
I suppose if you're a knowledgeable technician, you could perhaps open up the generator and modify it to do that, but it sounds like it would be a lot of work. And it would void the warranty, of course.
Can you please show the choke, when to use, switch on/off? Please and thank you
India me kaha sa mila ga or kya price hoga or kitna lod ka hoga ya or ya patrol ya diwali sa chla gaya ansar plz
Just replaced my old oil filler with this one. My old one was knurled which wasn't necessary. Oil would build up on the knurling. This one is smooth and works way better.

Nice movie.
Some reviews of this generator have shown that the 12v socket produces really dirty/poor power AND needs to be run in eco-mode OFF to work. You're actually better off using a 120v plug-in battery charger/booster with this generator than the onboard 12v charger.
can I run a air blower for a jumper with this generator? thank you
How much does it cost to run this generator for 8 hours a day 24/7?
What kind of gas an oil do I put into the generator?
Thanks great video :D
It would have been nice if you had used an electric heater as the load, much quiter, allowing us to hear the generator trottling up.
Just a quick question on the 12V-8A switch. Does it stay in when you turn it on? Or is it just a toggle/soft switch that springs back every time you press it? Thanks a lot!
IS IT LOAD?
does it have an indicate when to change oil?
+tanh van off course it does have oil low indicator, it ain't your cheap make its HONDA mate! And did you even bother to watch the video it printed on it oil indicator lol
tanh van No it don't. Your suppose to keep a eye on the usage time. First service should be carried out after 20 hours of use then 50 hours then 100 hours then 200 hours as it's like cars. it's a engine mate!
You said This produces ac ? I believe this is dc then inverted into ac.
The main technical difference between inverter generators and conventional generators is what kind of electricity is produced. Conventional generators only produce AC electricity while an inverter generator produces electricity in 3 phases (high frequency AC to DC back to a stable AC current).
I think it was a nail! lol An allen wrench doesn't roll.....either way, that could have resulted in PAIN!!
still think the yeti 150, 400, or 1250 with solar is the best way to go!
how much is it ?
Are you sure you're not the Pepperidge Farm man your voice sounds familiar?
How much?
can someone assist me?
i want to know if this generators can handle/power on a 50 inch tv thank you
what is wrong with this unit? One thing, no way to run till empty in the carburator. Thus, a machine used mostly for emergency, will not start after stored more than 3 to 6 months. A method needs added, to empty the fuel from the internals, so as to be useable.
mine sat for 11 months and i needed it in an emergency to pump water, took about 5-6 pulls and it fired up and ran for about 7 hours running an 1100 watt water pump was low on fuel but never ran out
they must not believe in hearing or eye protection
Where is the USB ports so my friend's can plug their iPhones, iPads and all that stuff in?
Just use the little AC-to-DC transformer that your iPhone (or other small electronic device) came with.
I had two used eu2000i generators, which ran beautifully and powered our 50 amp travel trailer when I built a parallel kit to combine the two outputs using the banana plugs and 120 V circuits; two legs of 120 V, which did not need to be out of these because the trailer only uses 120 V circuits on both sides of the electrical panel. Then some heroin addicts stole them from my garage… So I got two new ones. The inverters provide "clean" Voltage, and for those who say they are not enough, you can only get so much water out of a bucket, well, river, etc. They weigh 49 pounds apiece and can be carried one in each hand. No, they're not a bag of marshmallows. They don't vibrate around. if you run alcohol-free "recreational feel" gasoline in them, they did not gum up.
I'm 62. I recommend the Honda eu2000i.
