Alucard is based on the real Vlad Tepes, who Dracula is based on. He was held hostage and most likely raped for years in the ottoman empire while his father was ruler of Wallachia. He grew up and became ruler of Wallachia multiple times, often doing horrible things, including chopping heads like cabbage and impaling his own citizens outside of an area about to come under attack to scare away enemy forces. The story goes that he forsook god after feeling betrayed by him, serving Satan and becoming an immortal monster. In the show he continued his rampage until he was defeated by Van Hellsing, locked inside the Hellsing mansion in the basement until Integra Hellsing found him while being chased by her uncle, feeding him some of her blood and forming a contract with him, making her his master. Also, the robes the Catholic forces are wearing include a pointed hat called a caripote and a robe I forget the name of which is part of some catholic uniforms, and the KKK actually formed their uniform based on that, that's why the catholics look like KKK members.
Also, Alexander Anderson was originally based off of a hentai character who started off as a drug smuggler.

Okay I'm gonna break it down simple on how Dracula became Alucard, while trying to keep spoilers to a minimum. Okay to start Dracula is beat by Van Helsing as in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Van Helsing (from which Integra is descended) keeps Dracula's body and performs experiments on it both medical and mystical to increase his powers and bind him to the Helsing family while adding in the Cromwell Invocation so that he needs permission from his master to use his stronger abilities, sometimes around here Dracula changes his name to Alucard (Dracula backwards), Alucard fights alongside Walter (the butler with the razor wires) in WW2 against the Nazis and their secret attempts to make an army of vampires, Alucard is sealed in the Helsing family estate's basement should he ever be needed, things go balls up for young Integra after her dad dies and she wakes Alucard up..Hellsing starts here. Also for every soul he has devoured he can sacrifice one to keep from dying from a fatal wound such as having his head cut off, stabbing, being shot to pieces, dismemberment etc. etc. as has been seen. Also now that Seras is a full fledged Vampire now if she takes in more souls she can do the same thing.
But-and correct me if I'm wrong-the power boost is more substantial if the soul you take in from someone who gives you their permission to consume them?
This would explain why drinking the merc caused SUCH a boost in power in Seras, while the Nazi Vamps, who are eating people with wanton abandon, were still mowed down by Seras, as she is a far 'purer' strain of Vampire(being sired by Dracula himself).
@@plgrn8r683 Pretty much, they don't cover it in Team Four Star's Abridged version but when Seras is fighting Zorin and just before she kills her, Zorin gets a visit from resident cat boy Schrodinger. He talks about blood being the "Currency of the Soul" and there being a difference between blood that is taken vs blood that is freely given. It's why Pip still has autonomy and can talk with Seras after she drains him of blood while Rip Van and Dandyman are just mere slaves to Alucard, they have their abilities but no will of their own. Also the fact that the vampire Nazis are created rather than naturally made or turned like Dracula/Alucard or Seras means they don't have the same abilities that a normal vampire would.

The thing with vampires using anagrams of their names is actually older than Dracula's story - it first appeared in Carmilla in 1872.

Abraham van Helsing! He was the main vampire expert from the original Dracula novel from 1897, in the novel he was an old professor but still pretty badass. The name has been used since then for vampire hunters in all kind of movies and tv shows, either as an old professor or as an action hero vampire hunter. In Hellsing Ultimage, it takes the action of the original 1897 novel and puts Dracula as a slave/servant of his descendants to hunt other demons and vampires.
Damn that imagery at 16:00 where they both create the cross with their weapons, Alexander’s is the Christian cross, and Alucard’s is the upside down the “satanic” for lack of better word.
People tend to think the upside down cross is a satanic symbol, but it's actually the cross of saint Peter. Basically when he was crucified he decided that he wasn't worthy of dying in the same way as Christ, so he had them crucify him upside down as a way of him showing humility. The reason people associate the upside down cross with the devil, is because one preacher in medieval times was wearing an upside down cross, and he happened to have been casting demonic rituals and doing other evil shit. So it became an unholy symbol. TLDR an upside down cross is a symbol of humility.

Im probably late on this but here it goes: for centuries he has eaten countless people, making him absorve countless souls, from all the battlefields and wars until the modern days, and those souls are trapped inside him. Everytime someone kills Alucrd, a soul inside him is taken away, but he has to many souls inside to kill and everytime he adds more from his work. Summing up, his past enemies are trapped inside him in fear and agony doing his bidding for as long as he exists.
Also, its amazing and sad at the same time that Alucard didn't kill Alexander for hate nor for survival but because he wanted to save Alexander from becoming a monster like him

I understand the confusion, mainly towards Alucard's level 0 power. What i came up with is that he captures the souls of those he eats (not sure if by mainly blood or the whole body/most of it) and he can call upon them like doublegangers or an army in this case. I also assume it's a main reason he can't die, using the millions of souls as kind of like armor: when he gets shot, a soul dies and his fine.
Grant it, that's what i got from watching the original airing and to be fair, i could google it later, but still.
And by the end he became even more overpowered; it's hinted by his dialogue and eyes in the OVA that he now had Schrodinger's ability.

You guys definitely need to at least watch to the previous abridged episodes. They don't detail the entire plot of the actual anime, but as Hellsing Ultimate is comprised of around ten, hour-long episodes, the abridged version may be easier to watch in order to understand what's going on.
Also, the abridged episodes are generally released once a year, typically around the Halloween season.
What happened is, Sir Integras ancestor (I want to say father) defeated Dracula and imprisoned him in the mansion. Sir Integra found him by accident, got shot by people trying to take over the Hellsing Organization, he drank the blood she lost, killed the men, and pledged himself to her under the name Alucard. Hellsing is an organization used by the queens court to protect England from non-human threats.
Oh Jasmine XD, it gets bloodier in the OVA. And there's two versions of the anime. This one and an older one with a killer soundtrack

They hadn't noticed it though because you wouldn't really think to pay attention to it. Alucard is pretty much the exact opposite of Dracula. Though in the anime, Alucard acts nothing like this.

I watched the longer original Hellsing series before watching the TFS abridged version. Alucard (Dracula) is a much darker character and is a monster who only obeys his master because he is compelled to. But there are two versions of the original series, with the one featured by TFS that had an ending, and a TV version that finished with Integra imprisoned in the Tower of London.
I know some people probably know this already, but Anderson looks like Van Helsing in the 1931 Dracula movie
I have to constantly explain to people that the catholic klan hoods are actually a Spanish Catholic prayer hood called a Capirote (they also often come in other colors, blue and green being the most common).

Song has nothing factually to do with Anderson's past as it is as of this moment unknown. The song was simply molded to sound like a believable backstory for him which you can believe if you really want since i dought the truth will ever be revealed of his past. The song is the story of Alexander Hamilton but with thrown in vampire related lines to make it more believable to be Anderson's past. An absolutely Godlike recreation

Yeah, the problem with people reacting with SAO Abridged is Sony (of Japan) has been very vicious on people's react videos on that series.
While some get away with it, I've seen others that said they couldn't do those videos because Sony would copyright claim strike 2 videos, then once those claims were done, claim 2 more. Basically, Sony (Japan) is a bunch of copyright trolls that ignore fair use in the US because I don't think they have it to that extent in Japan.
Renegade Media Group was one that while they started SAO Abridged, they had to stop posting react videos on it due to the copyright claims as Sony of Japan ignored fair use.
People don't want to risk their entire channels so that's why you might see many react channels not react to various Abridged series.
Not saying all are like this as there are some that they really don't care about.
