I don't know if judging the past through the lenses of the present is a good move. I also think that Americans have a tendency to make certain things over-problematic.
Maybe in the Like a Prayer videos she was making a point for decency as an American, rather than as a white person. And used recognisable visuals to evoke racism (burning crosses).
The choir represents spiritual strength. What could have been more approriate in that video than an uplifting spiritual choir? By the way, is black music's massive influence on pop all over the world cultural appropriation? Or just genuine inspiration?
Also, kissing the feet of a saint is a sign of devotion, not of appropriation.
God save cultural syncretism in this age when even simply wearing a t-shirt with a Japanese design will have an American (but not a japanese!!) talking about cultural appropriation. It's such a reductive way of framing things...

She’s giving me the same vibes as the times black community booed at Whitney. Calling her ” Whitey Houston ” accusing her for being a sellout to the white crowd. Please stop this BS crap.

This is the most backhanded review of Madonna’s career with so many omissions of her charitable work and contributions to LGBTQ rights. Instead we get the woke take on her work which just paints her as a villain. A big thumbs down from me 👎

This is so basic and pointless. I would change the title of this video. “How we can disrespect an Icon”.

yes she has been a culture vulture through the years and continues to be, but her creativity cannot be denied, she still cultivated and co-produced a a lot of her music
