There's no way the vocals aren't overdubbed. There's tons of live videos from around this era and he never sings the whole verses, he skips over every few words to breathe. Even the chorus.
@@aaroncollins5188 I agree overdubbing is probably the most likely scenario, but I think it's also possible Vince knew they were gonna record this for the compilation and decided to give it his all. When they recorded Jailhouse Rock for GGG, they recorded it at pretty much every show they played to get the best take, and they STILL had to cobble it together and overdub all the vocals (poorly). Maybe they decided to skip all that hassle and just go all out for a good take. That's what I'd to think anyway lol. Even if it's an overdub, it fits really well. Better than the ridiculous Moscow overdubs that don't match the video.
Best live version of this song ever! Vince really gives everything he's got into the vocals, and it sounds so fucking ballsy and in-your-face, the way that it should sound! Fuck yeah! Motley Crue for life! 🤘💀🤘
Vince Wharton Neil is one of the best Frontman in the history of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal music! The man has an amazing voice! Motley Crue what an incredible band !!! The 4 of them Nikki, Tommy, Mick and Vince all powerful musicians!!!
I wish they had put out a live record of this tour, it sounded so good, I caught 3 shows. I recall Nikki saying in some interview back then that he didn't like live albums, so he naturally wasn't big on Motley doing one. I can respect that, but I'm glad we got this one song at least, the drums sound like cannons. This, and the live version of Don't Go Away Mad (from Entertainment or Death) are exactly like I remember hearing them at the shows.
This show was already full recorded in Dallas and several songs was released from this show but no the full show also they professional recorded a video from another show and never was released i dont know why
Disagree. During the Feelgood and Decade era, Vince sang his ass off. That said, even then, not easy to sing songs like "Shout" night after night. If you saw them during that time, you saw one hell of a show. Check out this whole set! m.th-cam.com/video/pQ4SkHmSJk8/w-d-xo.html
The band was [finally] sober and at the top of their game. Vince wasn't yet an embarrassment. There are just enough flourishes to make the live version of this song a long-termer. Fair credit where its due: The Crue batted a solid triple with this one.
I remember first getting this cd and popping it into the car stereo and being surprised at how sick this version is, instinctively put pedal to the medal when the explosion at 00:16 hits 😂
I had this song on my cd of decade of decadence! I just wanted the CD and bought it at a used CD place many many many years ago, and there was Japanese writing on the side for some reason which I thought was weird, but I thought who cares I got the album. It wasn’t until years later I realized that Japanese versions included extra songs because apparently the price of a cd was so atrocious in Japan that it was common place to add extra songs. My buddy also had a version of Kill ‘Em All by Metallica with am I evil and Blitzkrieg on it. When I bought mine, it didn’t have it and I was so upset because I thought they were from the album.
As far as I know the live version in Dallas Texas was not put on video. You can see the official music video for Kick Start My Heart. But not the Dalllas Texas live version.
On the Senior Class Trip in Argentina back in 92 we went so out of control with this album, especially this song on the bus that my best friend and I broke everything up, poored whisky all over and ended up me and him each with an ear next to each detachable loudspeaker of the doble deck recorder, jajaja. Stupid kids. I would kick their f asses if I found two half what we were.
I've been an alley cat I lived nine lives I'm like a fine wine I'm better with time Like a diamondback rattlesnake I have the rattle if it had the shake Until you gimme something to believe in Until you gimme something to sink my teeth into Now when the winds cry Angela Angela I'll be there for you And when the storms scream Angela Angela I'll be there I've been a poet always tongue in cheek I've seen some scenes man you'd never believe And like a supercharged rocket ride You know they'd have gasoline if they had the time Until you gimme something to believe in Until you gimme something to sink my teeth into Now when the winds cry Angela Angela I'll be there for you And when the storms scream Angela Angela I'll be there Oh, Angela Oh, Angela When the winds cry Angela Save me, I'm a suck soul sucker in this whiskey ghost town Get me in your saddle and ride me into the ground Oh, Angela Oh, Angela Now when the winds cry Angela Baby, baby I'll be there
Not sure if there is a video for Dallas but here is a kickass live video from around that time in Kansas where Vince is terrific on vocals like in this DoD live track. 2:34 in is Kickstart. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/pQ4SkHmSJk8/w-d-xo.html
This version of the song is better than the actual official version.
àq+
Everything is bigger in Texas
It’s the best version of the song , no question
Yes! Awesome to kick f ass!
Literally said the same thing!
This live version is faraway better than studio version
This live version is the best of this song
This is by far the best recording. I'm always let down by listening to other recordings, live or otherwise. . .
Best version of this song imo.
I agree
I completely agree. They fixed this version much better than the actual studio version. Good call
I agree completely. I have this cd but on here I always be sure to find this version. It's more epic than the original recording.
This band was great then they weren't really quickly.
This is the best Motley Crue greatest hits CD ever. The cover art, the track list. Everything is right on.
THE BEST version of this song, as no other version can unleash the fury like this one can! 🍻🇺🇸🤘🏼🇺🇸🍻
I've been looking for this version for 10 years. Thank you.
Nice to hear Vince put everything into the vocals... sounds great.
Well this was 25 years ago, I would hope he'd be putting effort into it.

I love that explosion sound at 0:16.
Brandon Farrar I
Totally agree!!!!
agree
Opening song of the Dr Feelgood tour, that was when Vince, Nikki and Mick popped up from beneath the stage
Best live version of this song ever! Vince really gives everything he's got into the vocals, and it sounds so fucking ballsy and in-your-face, the way that it should sound! Fuck yeah! Motley Crue for life! 🤘💀🤘

This is the best version.
I. Love. This. Version of. The Song
Why are his vocals so good here

The only time the vocals didn't suck live
pariskotsaros I agree, dude!!
Such pity they didn't do live album on this tour, they really were at the top of their game musically.
Vocals are fixed in the studio. I wish he sounded like this.
@@nicholasklapatch6656 He did sound pretty much like this. I've heard bootlegs from this era. However, this is still probably fixed in the studio.

When all 4 were all in and healthy they were the best rock n roll band around.
Best Version "Fuck it"
The band was [finally] sober and at the top of their game. Vince wasn't yet an embarrassment. There are just enough flourishes to make the live version of this song a long-termer.
Fair credit where its due: The Crue batted a solid triple with this one.

I was at that show! I guess i can say that i sang backup on a Crüe song.
Dwight Schrute sent me here....going to close a sale!
This is the kick-ass version no doubt!
Energy!!
Pure goosebumps
Mierda.. he pasado buscando está versión por mucho tiempo. La primera vez que escuché Kickstar my heart fue está versión en el 2009.

Someone needs to put this over Vince's live performances. It's not gonna match for shit but it'll sound a helluva lot better.
❤️🤘
Does anyone have the full version of this song?

Can anyone please tell me where to find this video. Iv had no luck
As far as I know the live version in Dallas Texas was not put on video. You can see the official music video for Kick Start My Heart. But not the Dalllas Texas live version.
Close as I have found. Vince is great here too.

Until you gimme something to believe in
Until you gimme something to sink my teeth into
Now when the winds cry Angela
Angela I'll be there for you
And when the storms scream Angela

I've been a poet always tongue in cheek
I've seen some scenes man you'd never believe
And like a supercharged rocket ride
You know they'd have gasoline if they had the time
Until you gimme something to believe in
Until you gimme something to sink my teeth into
Now when the winds cry Angela
Angela I'll be there for you
And when the storms scream Angela
Angela I'll be there
Oh, Angela

Ah yes. . .back when Vince Neil could still sing.
