I taught some kids at school how to play this on their ukuleles. We play a Dsus4 instead of the G on the bridge before the guitar solo. :) Will have to try that E7 instead of the usual E we play. Nice little licks at the end !
I have seen people using the Dsus4 as well! They are pretty close in tone, a Dsus4 is D G A while the G chord is G B D, so the only difference is the A or B note, either way they work, I think Angus might play a G5, which is just a G D note, throwing at the A and/or B all together 🤣 The E chord we are using is the E5 power chord, here is a link to a deep dive on it becuase you can do SO many cool things with it, the open E string gives you a lot of possiblities to blend it with scales, create crazy rhythms, make it minor on the 3rd fret or major on the 4th. th-cam.com/video/VWB8Q7k80dY/w-d-xo.html
@@TenThumbsProductions Yeah… that E5 power chord together with the fifth fret on the E string to make E sus4 , also makes for a good transition to a B chord, like the intro to Panama by Van Halen on the uke. Although I have been playing an E using a C shape and barring all the fourth frets.
@@TenThumbsProductions Thank you, but not really. Learning as I go along :) I wished I knew more about chords and stuff when I played the tenor saxophone ages ago in high school. I was pretty good back then but we didn’t know much about theory and composition and the way chords work together. Would have helped me with my solos I am sure :) I self taught bass guitar after highschool and learned lots of cool songs and techniques, but also didn’t focus on any theory. Playing the uke is teaching me a lot of new things, including music theory. It’s about time :)
@@TenThumbsProductions I think "ride on" would be pretty doable and "the jack". Either way really appreciate your stuff. Really helped me out learning this cool little instrument. Thanks 🙏
Whoa Tyler I love this song. I actually had some of this song I copied from someone on here but don't remember who tho but watching your lesson made it a whole lot easier and this time I was able to play along with you at the end. I will check out Back is Black too. Have you done Hells Bells? another good song of A/C D/C. Catch is later. life is good.
I haven't. I think those are the only two songs by them I have done! Which is crazy because they have so many cool riffs. Thunder Struck! I mean c'mon, there are so many more I need to do.
@@TenThumbsProductions Hey I sent you on Instagram, could the E be played in place of the E5 and still sound the same? I can play the E5 but struggle a little bit getting there from the D quickly whereas to the E is easier from the D.
