Of that one can't argue. The high point of English music, music in the Low Countries and France at a high also. Add in Spain and Italy, and we have musical heaven.
my favorite instruments are the lute, and the harpsichord. course, the latter didn't appear till later... but still, my favorites from anything before 1800.
Im not exactely sure, but this guy looks a bit like Isaac Massa, an important Dutch salesman during the 17th century.. He was often painted by Frans Hals, one of Hollands best known painters :)
The man in the painting (Isaac Massa?) is tilting back his chair? How long did he have to hold that pose? And was chair-tilting common back then as it is today?
I am looking for the score of the very first piece. After having some research online I found out that the first piece ist not the piece indicated as of Emanuel Adriaessen, Branle Englese. Does anyone know the name of the first piece? Thank you.
This is not the kind of Video to interrupt with adds. Of course you want to make some money at least by sharing others peoples work, nut please put it at the beginning or better still, at the very end. Thank you for considering it next time (only if you do, of course that is...).
Na! I don't think he had to tild his chair back for a long while....and yes the people of this age were very similar to us...XD.....so chair-tilting was very normal for persons who liked to tild their chair back XD....
+Amirali Jahdi just want to note that these song aren't traditional but composed, most of them are based on dance rhytms (branle, galliard, allemande etc.) as most of rennaisance music, but nevertheless these are compositions.
***** Which is why there is why I said there's no way somebody could be this stupid. Because nobody could. Thus I was calling him out for being a masterb8er.

Please I'm searching for the player of Psalm 23 by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck ? His interpretation and the sound of the lute are just sublime ...
It's Konrad Ragossnig, the same as the other tracks.

Good question sir. We all wanna know now
Why is it, that the videos of lute playing, with the image of a painting sounds like "green sleeves?"

If this is from the renaissance then how did they record it? The Paleophone wasn't even conceived until 1877. Fake.
