I really like it! :) But I can't quite make up what the diode is for. Is this infinitely expandable? Also, is it possible to make the LEDs turn off al at the same time, instead of them fading out?
If all leds turn off after running it would be called led chaser. I've a video on led chaser. th-cam.com/video/mzxe0HaOAXQ/w-d-xo.html If you don't use diode the leds will not flow and may be only first led run. Diode is used to complete cycle of leds.
Hi, I wanted to set this up for the LED strips in my stairs. I want each step to light up on after another. Can I connect an LED strip instead of each LED bulb that you have connected in this model? and How do I slow down the speed of lighting?
Capacitor also depends on the speed of flow but discharging resistor (that I used 680R in the video) depends more for led flow. If you use more than 3 leds in series or parallel with one transistor then you need to install bigger capacitor.Just change the 680R resistor to 1k or 2k variable resistor & set speed to your own choice.
Capacitor is used for the flow of LEDs, bigger the capacitor value flow will be slow. 220R is used to protect LEDs for over current, you can use 330R and 10k for transistors. For 680R or 1k resistors you have to set the value of resistor to own to discharge the capacitor in such way that LEDs flow sequence is good.
@@techideas6772 I ask for advice from you, these are the components I have (10k resistors, 330ohm resistors, 2k2 resistors, 100uf 16v capacitors, and 1N4007+bc547 diodes, which components should I replace to make it safe for the vehicle,,, what should be according to what you make in the video, please answer...??

You need to use same schematic but lower the values of resistors to change speed of flow and discharging capacitor. And set according to your need where it works fine.
Bro need your urgent help which capacitor which resistors and which transistors should I use if I want to make 6 segments of 3 1watt leds in each segment parallel connection of leds? I hope you will reply soon
Very good and very nice
Excelent video
Could it be done with more channels, or should there only be 6 channels for the circuit?
Yes, of course.

Excelente!
Quiero saber hasta cuantos leds se pueden colocar para hacer este circuito. Gracias.
I can't understand your language.
Maximum 3 leds in series or parallel.

No it can't work as staircase lighting.
Excellent project friend. Is this for use with 9v input? or to use it with 9v should I change any resistance and capacitor?
Yes it can work on 9v to 15v. I used 12v for this project.
Can I use a potentiometer to control the flow
Yes you can use 1k potentiometer where I used 680 ohm resistor.
What kind of capacitor would make the LEDS turn on slower?
Bigger value capacitors.
amazing bro..looks cool...but can you explain that which capasitors to use to lower the speed??

If i want led run faster, what i need to change?
Capacitor and 680R resistor
Nice
hi, can i use more leds?
You can't use more than 5 or 6 segments but you can use leds in parallel to increase length.
@@techideas6772 why i cant use more than 6 segments ??
Because led flow will not be proper.
I used 6 transistors and connected 2 last leds together but they are not bright as the rest
why ?
@@asseressam8252 Only use lower resistor value for the led.
Hello! in this circuit can i use 12v led?
No, if you want to run 12v LEDs you should have to use switching transistors.
Thank you
Would 2n2222 work instead?
Yes but pin configuration may be changed.
@@techideas6772 so it wouldn’t work if I just swapped the bc547’s for 2n2222’s?
Check pinout first if they are same then use.
@@randominventions3005 You need to change the face of transistor to other side so pins will be as bc547.
@@techideas6772 so just turn it 180 degrees
Can you make it work for 24v input?
I not tried yet but it can better work on 24v by changing resistors & capacitors.

Yes this can work but you have to change values a little bit for decent flow.

ok, which is the little value that I have to change, is it a resistor, or a capacitor, or something else, please answer again..?
