Sir, you mentioned that Af negative implies negative pore water pressure but i guess it should be the change in pore water pressure that is negative not the actual pore water pressure?
there will be drain condition in NCC so there will be no cohesion bw particles bcoz soil particles couldn't mobilize due to water flow...and cohesion bw particles will be no more.

Sir as the water from the soil is already dissipated in the 1st stage i.e consolidation , then how the pore water pressure is developing in the shearing stage??
@@hraghavendra4006 When load is applied over the soil excess pore pressure is generated with respect to the amount of load. Further removal of excess pore pressure takes huge time. Also after excess pore pressure is removed at first stage doesn't means that whole water present in soil is removed. That is why we use the term excess pore water pressure not pore water pressure. Also we use 3 to 4 sample under increasing value of load which leads to much more consolidation that gives general idea that whole water removal is not possible. Only we can increase the consolidation leading soil with much higher strength then first..
