Agreed, this and the level 4 music are my favorite level tracks. On level 4, I like the use of multiple tracks to make a huge punchy bass on the 2612 that wouldn't be possible one a single channel.

Why would Gems composers use FM drums when they can use sweet PCM samples instead? FM Drums even the great one's don't hold a candle to good sampled one's.

@@supersexysega well, a good reason why many composers resorted to FM percussion was to reserve the PCM channel for sound effects and whatnot.

@@camulodunon Yea and Gems allows for priority sampling so you can have the best of both worlds. Other drivers just the the percussion sample cur for the voice or sound effect momentarily still generally better.
Very aware some composers got decent/good fm drums. Still don't stack up against decent good sampled drums.

This drums remember Time Trax percussion. Don't use DAC channels, only FM Channels

Probably they would not be able to make such impactful drums using samples, they would have to use a very high quality and still be limited in some higher frequencies. Using high quality samples in the past was not an option, it increased the cost of producing the cartridges.
