    That bottled water one. I rarely buy bottled water. Just use a water distiller and use my water bottle. Saves lots of cash. Kudos

    CHALLENGE. honestly, i still have jeans from high school. (if they become too tight I go back to the gym; if they get too loose I go less HAM at the gym).
    *wool balls instead of dryer sheets
    *i also stopped buying gifts for people during holidays-- instead i take them out for an event (i.e. dinner, concert...) or we spend time together (i.e. cooking Christmas dinner together, a hike with my mom for Mother's Day...)

    I love gadgets, but I've never been one who has to have the latest and greatest. I've used my cell phones until they either died or got lost. I have driven every car I've owned into the ground before acquiring another. All have been purchased used except my current one. I've never really cared about TVs. I paid A LOT of money for them 10 years ago, and I STILL have the same ones to this day. I don't even watch TV anymore for the past year. BUT . . . my weakness is kitchen gadgets/appliances!!! I just don't swap them out for newer ones all the time. I do buy laptops quite regularly, but I use them all for work. I literally have five laptops in use at a time. One of the best things I did was quit my Starbucks habit. I don't even miss it. The only time I buy Starbucks now is from gifts cards for birthdays, etc.
    I don't know how old you are, but you look young. You are not unattractive! Your great attitude and intelligence makes you even more appealing. Love your videos. Blessings to you.

    All good points, I’m gonna attempt to take this challenge. I will say I’ve owned the same car for 8 years, all while my income has tripled. I actually take pride in driving a base model Mazda lol

      One good rule is if you do buy something buy good quality, whatever it is. It might be more than you want to pay but it will last you maybe 5x longer and you will save money in the long term. Wealthy people buy good quality not necessarily to show off but they realize it would be money well spent and last longer.

    • @D_Spear
      @D_Spear ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martinrbookermb a good point that Tommy has covered, can’t remember if it was in this video or another one but yes for sure. It’s important to know quality is not really luxury but instead something that last, my base model Mazda has been a shinning example of that. It’s actually a cheap car but the quality of it is unmatched to a comparable American vehicle.

    (4:25) This can also be applied to laptops/desktops. My laptop is 5+ years old and it takes 2 minutes to load to proceed to the password menu. It was also taking too long to load the apps. I was at the point where I need to buy a brand new computer. So, before considering buying one, I did research about how can my computer operate faster. The results where this: I replaced my battery, changed the backup C battery, installed more RAM, and installed a brand new SSD (with free cloning software and a SATA transfer cable to replace the old HDD) last year. My computer startup time to go to the password screen after turning on is now 14 seconds. All of this cost about a 1/3 of what a brand new laptop cost.
