Croatia Trip 2024 Episode 5 Dubrovnik Days 1-2

We added Croatia to the backend of our Italy Trip 2024.
We left Split by bus “FlixBus” and headed for Dubrovnik. It was a 3 hour and 45 minute ride. We booked our bus ticket online months before. The countryside was beautiful. We stopped once to stretch our legs, use the toilet, get a snack and a drink. The bus driver is required to take a break.
Once in Dubrovnik we hired a taxi to take us to our Airbnb “ Villa House Milos” located near Old Town Dubrovnik in the town of Stikovica. Our taxi driver gave us his number and we used him several times. Super friendly and spoke great English.
The Airbnb was super special with views of the Stikovice Bay. We had four bedrooms, two bathrooms, two kitchens, a patio and balcony and a private beach access. We arrived early so the rooms weren’t ready. So we dropped off our luggage and walked to lunch nearby at an excellent restaurant “Konoba Orsan” with great up close views of the bay. Our rooms were ready when we got back.
The next day we went into Old Town and had a Game of Thrones tour of the castle and the famous “Walk of Shame “.
We used Get your Guide. We booked ahead of time and prices were reasonable. You can cancel up to the day before if need be. Just be careful as some of the admission prices are an extra cost in addition to cost of tour. We also had trouble paying on line through the GET YOUR GUIDE app. Pay pal seemed to work fine with the app as opposed to using your credit card. The other issue is you are limited on time during the tours.
Our contact Baldo in Split took us to the bus station. Baldo was our transportation and “Johnny on the Spot” for information. He also has a smaller bnb that is available through TripAdvisor (Apartments Djanovic) you can contact him through instagram at VintageTomosTourSplit. He has motorbikes that he rents to see the city.
