u skipped over the broken elevators like thats not a huge problem, i was there for 2 weeks starting 4th of july weekend and all of the elevators were broken, and when they fixed the one it would take 30 minutes to get on and they were over packed. its unacceptable to have to walk up ten flights of stairs to go in and out of your room. They also never gave me back my 300 dollar deposit, which no other hotel i stayed at asked for. The hooters is fine, the casino is run down if you want to visit it wouldnt be that bad, but never stay there. you have been warned.
You forgot to mention about the body snatchers (time share)Be careful they will hold you hostage for a minimal of 4 hours trying to sell you TIME SHARE! Your welcome

they also said they would discount me 5 nights of resort fees for elevators being down, never got that or my deposit of $300 back, they are scumbags in my opinion.
That pool area is a disgrace compared to what it used to be. They removed both firepits, both hot tubs, a huge waterfall, and a third pool. They also removed the outside tiki bar which was so much fun especially when they had a DJ outside. They also had 3 times as many loungers back then too. The place has gone so far downhill that it’s sad. This was all back when it first became rebranded as Hooters hotel & Casino.
My only memory of the property is I stumbled out of the Tropicana and ended up in the pool area, this was when it was under construction and billed as the hotel San Remo, thought it looked pretty nice then, but that was after about 10 Manhattans 😎
The last time me and my friends stayed here was in 2018 and it was pretty shitty then …this place has a lot of homeless traffic we once got harassed by homeless ppl in the casino for some our wings we bought from shooters …not a place you want to stay but it’s cool if you’re passing by or whatever
Thanks for your thorough review. Very definitely a one star hotel and not even close to my standards. It's too bad ownership won't invest the capital just to make it a decent hotel. I may drop into the casino bu there are much better properties to stay at in Vegas.
For me, a giveaway that it's PROBABLY not a great hotel: the Hooters restaurant. They served the worst food I've ever eaten. Even their best chicken wings are bland and overcooked.
PS: dirt in the corners, cables all over, warped door frame, cracked wood furniture, and exposed leftover brackets for ancient smoke detectors?! That "room" is a dump. No wonder it's rated so poorly.
In 1993 it was the San Remo hotel. I was having home built at Canyon Country Club. I had a airport view. I was there 1 week & the contractor ran behind So he paid for 2 months for large suite at Desert Inn CC. This hotel looks same but casino looks bigger.

It use to be San Remo in the 1990s & it was nice. I have played at the OYO & the dollar black Jack is fun & the beers are a bargain.

Those pools used to be heated in the winter. Have not been there in years. 12:20 the natives got restless.
