Best you can do is call Ford dealer with VIN number handy and ask them for the part #. They will give it to you free of charge and then you can buy it wherever you want
Having this same issue right now. Unable to open the trunk from inside the vehicle or from my key fob and getting this message even though the trunk is closed. This won't drain the battery will it?
Hi. No it shouldn't drain the battery. You can fix wiring using butt connectors to do it the right way or just twist the bare part of each wire around each other and isolate using iso tape for the fastest "fix"
2013 Ford Focus, recently repaired the split wire to allow opening of the trunk, now indicator says truck lid open. I sprayed electrical cleaner in the latch compartment open and close 6-7 times and POOF, no more open message. Thank you!!! --David
Well it depends if you are willing to do it by yourself. You will need a bit of extra wire same gauge. Then strip all the wire ends and connect either by using butt connectors or just by twisting the wire ends. Make sure to use isolation tape around the connections once you are done. Very easy to do

This is ace. Could this be setting my alarm off too? I have this message but also my alarm is going off and killing the battery.
