Yes it does. As long as there is any rarity difference between the packs. So if the pack consists of only super rares for instance, it will not work. If it has normal rarity rates such as the packs in this video, it will work.
I'd argue the same for in-stores too. I've been getting terrible pulls from the 2-pack sets at Walmart/Target. I wasted a lot of money and never got an Ultra Rare across 30+ packs from the store.

Just weighed my packs and pulled 5 Ultras and some supers (maybe 5-6) i don’t know how many ultras there are per box but I am saving the rest for a big opening of booster boxes I open and opening the rest to see what other hits I missed (missing 1 in KICO I think, and 1-2 in rage of ra)

It all depends on what set its from. If the packs have a guaranteed holo in every pack, they can't be scaled. I'm not too familiar with GX or 5ds packs myself, however, so afraid I can't give you more info than that!
weighing in a way is scum tbh. because it ruins the fun of pulling for people who dont and just buy them fairly. + imo it takes the fun out of it. because one of the fun things about pulling card is the excitement of getting something you didn't expect
As far as modern yugioh the only sets that can be weighed are this one, legendary duelist magical hero and the ots packs which they recently fixed starting with ots 19 or 20.
I just purchased a lot of qcc pride and unity , loose packs by mistake cus I didn’t read description I thought it was sealed box , can they be weighed or mapped ??
@@marrirahulreddy730 those are japanese cards. You can't use japanese or ocg cards in the American tcg. I've never bought sealed ocg products. I'm not expert on ocg products. Just stay away from loose boosters. They might have been searched or weighed. You'll have to research that pack and see.

LGS normally won't do things like that. If they do and you can prove it, they're in big trouble! Things like this usually happen when you buy online, so I don't think you have to worry! Of course you can always be unlucky, but I hope you get some nice pulls!

That's correct! Or, you buy packs that have a guaranteed holo in it, because then they can't be weighted either. Even better would be sets with ONLY holos in it of course, like the Brothers of Legend, Ghost From the Past...
Or you can weigh the boosters and just choose the heavier ones (IE the more printed longer names with more ink will add more tiny weight to show a difference and can probably weigh that way
Also I forgot to mention that thank god all the packs I got of this set (haven’t bought any packs let alone cards in a few years) were double pack blisters because I don’t think those can be weighed at least I think.
If they're legit konami blisters then you're right! But I know that stores like Walmart also buy repackaged blisters from other stores that were leftovers. Not sure how it goes, as we don't have such a thing here in Belgium
As long as you do not actually scale the packs and only sell light ones, it won't be an issue! And people also like to collect sealed packs, or out of production sets and such. Don't worry! :D
It's almost like each pack should have an extra card with a random assortment of micro cutouts of various amounts, almost like a QR code to make the weights of the packs completely random.
@@BopisTCG Well, people could easily take into account the weight of the promo cards and still weigh them. Having a card with random parts of it cut out would mean several variations of different weights which would throw off scales. Make the cutouts small enough to where you can't just feel them through the pack, or for larger cutouts for more variations of weight, place the card between the trading cards. Boom. No more weighing packs.
@@lordazrielxiii7731 Yes, but cutting actual parts off of cards comes with a lot of other problems. Not fitting in sleeves, shifting (and thus damaging the card), making it off-centre which hurts for grading, value in general, it looks fake etc. Cards should not be changed, just add an additonal piece such as a promo for your game or something and it's easily fixed, just like Pokemon does. Here, the green codes are heavier whilst the white code cards are lighter (and come in the holo packs). There is no weighing in that TCG possible since they did that, or it is VERY hard to do so.
@@BopisTCG Not the cards themselves, I mean an extra throwaway card whose sole purpose is to be different weights. It can have cutouts as if dit were holepunched or laser cut. Either this or figure out a way to make all cards weigh the same, however that would be done.

This is interesting. I might just experiment with this myself but for now, I got 8 packs of this yesterday and got 3 super rares and 2 ultra rares one being The Winged Dragon of Ra alternative art.

I have never weighed a pack before and still haven’t because I thought that only worked on older packs or something like that, but I just grabbed random ones in different order in hopes of getting a good pack lol and I was pretty stoked about the ra since it’s one of my most favorite yugioh cards.
Any idea what a 9 gram pack may hold? I have one, but waiting to get new sleeves to open it just in case (didn't scale in a store btw, ordered the pack online)
It can literally hold anything depending on the set. You need to weigh multiple packs per set to figure out what the 'heavy' weight is to pull good cards.
It is trickier with code cards, but not impossible. Not every retailer does it either, but I have had a ton of bad experiences with it unfortunately.. so I only buy sealed boxes now haha
The vintage ones breakthrough and older can be. Also some of the limited edition ones such as Generations, Hidden Fates, and Shining Fates also can be because they don’t have the code card.
As a kid I had suspicions about local store owners who sold Yugioh and Pokemon cards. I would never get any good pulls unless I bought from bigger chains like Toys R us. Now I think they must've been weighing them. If only I could go back with the knowledge I have now...

It's not against the law, but it is frowned upon in the community.. so depends if your 'friend' feels okay with doing it really

Or a small card promoting their video games like master duel, link duels.. they did that with premade decks for a long time too.

I bought two rage of Ras and they sucked. Is it possible to open them and reseal them?
Resealing them is pretty noticable and will get you in trouble if you decide to resell them.

Weighting the packs would be more common than resealing them, unless the pack has only holos and weight is the same no matter what.

Pokémon Packs can’t be weighed for quality.. I got great pulls from my 7 loose packs off of amazon.. didn’t know Yugioh was behind the times lol

That would not surprise me. It's been recorded before that they do do that, but if you can prove it, you can actually sue them.
